My Gen 2 is doing that at the moment..... I see it as a feature ...but if I wanted to get it sorted... is it JUST the torque sensor ?
Sounds like no one knows but suiing Specialized did not go as expected.

I love the overrun on my 2026 Levo-R Gen 4 S-Works. When set at max, it allows me to stop pedaling just before hitting a short uphill patch of rocks, roots or ruts that would be tricky to pedal over.
This bike cost $11,500 after the recent $4,000 price reduction, but I would gladly pay that $4,000 to have a motorcycle-like twist throttle that allows full control
of the overrun.
I’ve been waiting on an Amflow PX Pro with the M2S motor to keep on hand for friends to ride, but now I want the Bonnell MX 775 instead. It has 6,000 Watts and a twist throttle as well as pedal assist.

The reason the case was thrown out, was because, after sueing and saying the bike's overrun was dangerous. The plaintiff sold the bike on to a mate, before the court case went ahead.

You can't say the bike is dangerous, then sell the bike to a friend. Kind of negates your dangerous claim.

I like max overrun but have to know it's on and fingers on the brake levers

My wife grew up in Oakridge. I’ve ridden the trail he crashed on.
Alpine. It’s not a difficult trail.
Headed back to Oakridge in 2 weeks to ride.

Some really amazing trails in Oakridge..

As far as the lawsuit, it was shit from the start. A big scam.

Here is an unpopular opinion, and yes I know that overrun is a very useful feature for clearing trail obstacles, overrun should not be allowed on Class 1 bikes, it's too much like a throttle assisted dirt bike. The bike is literally running with no current pedal input.

Bikes are limited by bike stuff, they are NOT MX bikes. Class 1 E-bikes should be the same as bikes.

Overun counteracts the heavy weight during extremely technical climbs. Especially up over root wad peaks, and tight uphill turns. Preventing motor destroying crank strikes.
It’s a handy tool. It’s adjustable and can be shut off.
I use it. I like it.

You are conflating useful, with not in keeping with the spirit of biking. Overrun is both of these things.

For example, 50 hp and a throttle is also useful for climbing things too, doesn't mean that it's appropriate for a 'bike'.

It also mitigates pedal Bob by powering through the top of the stroke.

It’s still biking. Calm down.

3 seconds of overrun is not comparable to a 50hp motorcycle. Give me a break.

I’m not conflating a godamn thing. It’s a new tool like a cassette full of gears, or I dunno a front brake. A new tool for BIKING, that decreases falls, and adds to the enjoyment.

Don’t use those gears kids. Biking should be super difficult to be biking.

Like I said, it's just my opinion, and an unpopular one at that.

I think that e-bikes should be like bikes. And if a feature makes them less like bikes, it's probably best to forego it.

No need to repeat yourself.

Biking at its heart is balancing on two wheels. We have added lots of tools to the original idea of balancing on two wheels. Even cranks and pedals……

But it’s still biking.

I disagree ... If I want to ride a mountain bike I'll ride one..... I ride a ebike cause it's better.... I don't want my ebike to ride like a mountain bike ... and I dont want it to ride like a motor bike (i'd ride one if I did) its a totally different sport and type of activity and I like that.

Overrun makes no difference if I have it or not.
