Am I correct in thinking that the smooth shift function currently only works with Sram AXS transmission derailleurs?

I read somewhere that you need the X0 Eagle derailleur for it to work, though I was wondering if it also works with the rest of the range, including the cheaper GX Eagle?

As it only seems to use current being drawn from the cable plugged into the motor. I would assume the chainring would index no matter which derailleur was plugged in. As long as it was powered from the Avinox Motor and not it's own battery.

That said. If a derailleur drew far less current when it shifting, than a T-Type EAGLE TRANSMISSION derailleur. It may not trigger the motor to index.

Rob fitted a GX T-Type EAGLE TRANSMISSION derailleur on his Avinox powered Crestline and it worked.

No - it works with ANY AXS derailleur, at least I have had no problems swapping my OG AXS GX system on UDH Hangar to the Amflow and then wiring to motor. In other words it only works when hard wired (AXS battery removed) and works with the previous generation AXS (pre-Transmission T-Type)

Good to know it doesn't have to be T-type, thanks!

So if you decide to install new Sram Axs derailleur, what do you have to do? I know it's not as simple as plug in & play with auto shift. Avinox system needs to know when to auto shift so the derailleur needs to be connected to Avinox App. Anyone have instruction?

I assumed that it detected the derailleur being plugged into the battery via the power cable as I'd not seen anyone mention anything else being required.

Unfortunately I'm still waiting on Velduro to get a Phantom so I've not got any first hand experience yet.

Please don't get confused by "Smoothshift" & "auto-shift",
Smoothshift just detects the voltage spike from YOU shifting gear (wireless) and runs the chainring independently. So yes, just plug and play, power via the motor AUX/Lighting connection and enable "Smoothshift" in the bike top tube display. The bike only needs to be told the wheel, chainring & cassette sizes to work out the gear indicator display.
"Autoshift" is when the bike decides to change gear for you (not available on Avinox..........yet)

All you have to do is turn it on in the screen. Scroll down the options in the screen and you will see it.
