Hi I'm looking at a Focus Jam2 and was wondering if there are any consumable parts the motor needs (E8000), probably keep the bike 3-4 years; also is there a regular service schedule. Does the E8000 suffer from any known faults? I'd rather here this from users as well as the dealer.
Thanks

Not heard of any, but E means added wear to chains & crank bearings due to the higher load & I expect that, be interested to hear of others thoughts on this (y)

There are issues with the bearings in the 8000 motor unit but you can fix them yourself if you are out of warranty.

I think one of our members can help you out, @Bearing Man do have videos of how to do.

Unfortunately, we have not done the Shimano motors yet, not enough second hand ones about to investigate yet. It is on the list though and We are getting more enquires for repairs on the E8000.
Pete.

I’ve stripped and replaced E8000 bearings

Thanks Pipo, but do you know, or does anyone else, if the b/b bearings are covered by the warranty or will they just come under normal wear and tear?
The bb bearings will have a two year warranty as they are part of the motor.
