I Just got the PL Carbon Pro ten days ago and all the info and reviews said it was one of the top if not THE top rated EMBT.

Just 32 miles and 6 days later the PX Carbon Pro launches and i am struggling with huge buyers remorse.

Hindsight is wonderful but to bring out a new flagship in less than 18 months is going to really annoy us M1 owners.

I asked Amflow directly if they sell the M2S motor but they say its not compatible with the M1 (despite YouTube sayig otherwise).

Not sure what to do now. Do i just cut my losses and sell it to put towards a PX or just live with obsolete tech?

What were the reasons for buying the PL Carbon?
Do those reasons still exist?
Do you enjoy riding it?
Do you still like the way it looks?

Personally, I am quite happy with my eBike that is the older model, bought just after the newer models came out (at a heavy discount).
All the reasons I bought it still exist, so I have no buyer's remorse.
There will always be newer, better, faster, cooler. If you liked your purchase at the time of buying, that shouldn't change simply because of a new update.

Just wrote something regarding that over here:

If you can support the hit, go for it!
I wouldn't do it.
The value lost in less than 2 months, would drive me crazy, and selling today, or in 1 year, you'll be losing almost the same value...

Hope you bought it with 14% discount.

I would just breath, have a beer and enjoy the hell out of the eMTB!

Obsolete tech? How about you just enjoy it for what it is, it didn't become a bad bike over a night just because something "better" got released. It will always be something new around the corner, except if you have a Shimano motor then it's the same for decades. ;)

Well, it’s still a great EMTB however you look at it?

Unfortunate timing, sure, but it’s still better (depending on what attracted you to it in the first place) than anything else you were considering?

Avinox will no doubt keep releasing updates for it, you may get some Easter eggs going forwards, so just look forward and ride it! 😃

I’ll lend you my E8000 EMTB for a while if you want to feel better about your purchase?! 🤭

Yea this is on you man, it’s been very public for a long time the release date of this new bike.

But to make you feel better, the old model is still an amazing bike. Just go enjoy it dude. In a couple years when you’re ready to upgrade they’ll be on the m16s and you can then buy that.

Who knows man, there may be tons of issues with this iteration that could show itself in a few months.

The best bike is the one you have. Just enjoy it and don't worry about the hype

Before I ordered the PX, I tested both the PL and PX (pro versions) side by side. I personally didn’t realize substantial differences in power or noise. The PL also looks better imo and you get the better seat post. If the dealer would have told me that I had to wait more than a month for the PX, I would have bought the PL. So just be happy, I know I would be

I bought my PL Carbon Pro about 6 weeks ago knowing that there was a new motor coming and a whole slew of new bikes. So why did I buy it - I wanted to ride it now (not in 6 weeks), proven / improved technology, I love the look of the PL, 105nm is way more power than I need and I wanted the AXS 'bling' at a reasonable price.

So 250km (ish) in and checking my stats, about 85% of my riding in Auto (reduced to 95nm & 850W), 12% turbo (105nm & 1000W) and 2-3% in boost. The bike & motor combo is simply excellent & handles so well - is there better, sure. Would the M2 have more power, definitely. Would I use & appreciate the extra power, honestly not sure.

Go ride which (IMHO) is simply one of the best bike/motor combinations in the last xx years (insert your own value for xx).

I completely understand what your saying and i am completely not rational about it but spending 8k on a bike is not a rational thing as i wanted a flagship, top of the line bike.

For me it was an emotive purchase so it just stings a bit to know there is a better Amflow but lets just hope they create a conversion kit from the M1 to the M2S.

The PL carbon Pro is a great bike but just wished they had put something on their website 10 days ago as i would have waited.

To make it mine I have already started to upgrade components i.e Oneup 50mm rise bars, ordered Gustav Pros, going mullet and a cascade link on order.

Unfortunately nothing on their website said what the new model was etc. I am used to buying tech where they put their new models out to test way before they launch and then allow pre orders etc.

Everybody has different tastes and reasons…me personally I didn’t care about the new motor at all, I bought the new one because of the various adaptions with the geometry.

And the Gustav brake is one of the first things I‘m going to replace…

Thats an interesting take and i will take heart on that as reviews are saying they are miles apart but not sure if thats just bias.

Thats interesting as i was considering Mavens but Gustavs have some good reviews. The MT7 pro is ok but seems a little weak

The brakes aren't too bad after putting some decent pads in there. Fox 38 helps too.

A week ago I was set for an upsell to a PX, a few days ago I had changed my mind to a PR.

Now I'm thinking a Podium or new Lyrik and just ride my PL. It's 9 months old, 4500km on it and makes me smile every ride.

It was one of the most advanced MTBs available 2 weeks ago and still is.

Just ride and enjoy.

Arr yes sounds like plan.

I have the 2026 Pl with the new Fox 36s grip x2 which are apparently nearly as stiff as the 2025 38s so hopefully they will be ok to keep.

I think with the mullet and Cascade link i hopefully will feel a bit more like a trail plus bike that would feel not much different than a PX

I bought a PL Carbon Pro last December when they went on sale for $1,600 off. I knew full well this sale was aimed at clearing out inventory for the next (new) Amflow. 1,200 miles later I’m totally happy and have zero regrets, except for Magura brakes 👎.

Different stokes for different folks but I got a good deal with no shipping costs and for whatever reason zero tax 🤔.

The PX brings much more than just power. It brings much stiffer rear end, a much better ride, better geometry and with 40 adjustment to make it perfect for your use case, etc.
The few good YouTubers out there that compared the two said it was a much better ride and bike.

Trying to lie to yourself that the old PL is as good will do nothing.

The truth is the PX is much better, but it doesn’t make your PL worst than it was 2 weeks ago. The PL is still the bike you bought, it hasn’t changed. When you bought it you liked it, so enjoy what you have. And when it’s time to change it in a few years you can get the M6.

Not sure what to do now.
Ummm ...... The PL Carbon Pro is a brilliant EMTB. Super light and poppy. 800Wh battery and still only 20.5 kgs. Best All Mountain bike there is. I never use the 1000watt\120Nm mode. Watch the reviews. No one is riding the PX in it's max mode.

The PX is a mix breed, and does neither role well. If you want an Enduro. Get a proper enduro. Not the PX. If you want a trail bike then the PL is what you want. You don't need the heavier motor, tyres and rear triangle. And I hate the colour of the PX.

Zero chance I'd swap my PL Pro for the PX. PX with 800Wh battery maybe, but I'd want lighter tyres.

Why would I lie to myself? I ordered the PX because of geometry adjustability. For me the new motor isn’t relevant at all. I was really close to go with the PL, and if I had I would’ve been happy as well. Neither of them won’t ride as good as my Levo SL2.

And btw, youtubers always have to say the new one (car, bike, phone) is better?! They all got those bikes weeks or months ago, if they don’t say it’s better they won’t get it next time. Wait a few weeks or months for more honest reviews!

I'd be more frustrated that I did not wait for the huge amount of Bikes now with avinox motor .
Could you sell it to any of your riding mates ?.
Take a little bit of hit and get a new bike
Im wanting the Whyte Karve but realistically the megamo reason is probably enough bike for my riding .

You have to see it this way: you got a lighter bike with a bigger battery - the 800Wh gives you more range. If you don't need the customization options with the flip chips and head angle adjustment you got actually the better bike.
Plus you get all the features of the new bike: navigation, etc.

Most of the people with the new M2S / M2 bikes are running reduced power & torque because it's too much.
Very few people actually NEED this kind of power and torque on public MTB tracks

As for not knowing about the new kit - It's been known since at least early January these new motors and batteries were dropping in April.

Our Trek Rail Bosch Gen4 motors and batteries are a generation old now - they still rip & shred on the trails ! :)
