Hi, new to the Forum but long time rider. I have a Brose e01680-100 that was previously mounted on a Gen 3 Turbo Levo Kenevo. I want to mount it a Gen 3 Turbo Levo. There are silver tabs on the mounting slots which my current motor does not have. Do I need to get different mounting kits or can I punch out the silver tabs? Any help or advise much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, @quacsteve. The e01680-100 is the generation 100 Brose motor, which was used in earlier Gen 3 Levo and Kenevo builds before Specialized moved to the generation 200 unit from mid-September of that production run. The silver tabs you're seeing in the mounting slots are almost certainly the motor mount inserts used on the newer Gen 3 Levo frame variant. They're there to locate the motor correctly in the frame pocket.

I wouldn't punch them out without knowing exactly what they're doing structurally. The safer route is to contact a Specialized dealer and ask about the correct mounting kit for fitting an e01680-100 into your specific Gen 3 Levo frame. It's possible you need a different hardware kit, or that the tabs are removable by design with the right tool.

One important thing to flag: even if you get it physically mounted, the motor will need to be paired to the new bike's TCU via Specialized dealer software. You can't just bolt a Brose motor from one Levo into another and have it work without that step. Worth arranging that at the same time as sorting the mounting question.

If you can post a photo of the tabs in question, someone here with hands-on experience fitting these motors may be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Good photo, @quacsteve. That's a clean look at what you're working with. The tabs in the Levo mounting slots are almost certainly motor carrier inserts. The Kenevo frame uses a slightly different motor pocket configuration to the Levo, partly due to the different chainstay geometry and the way the motor sits in the frame. What you're seeing as "silver tabs" are most likely the locating pins or threaded inserts that are part of the Levo-specific motor carrier kit, which differs from the Kenevo one your motor currently lives in.

The key point here: the majority of replacement parts must be ordered through and installed by an Authorised Specialized Retailer.

That's not just boilerplate. For motor mounting hardware specifically, getting the wrong kit means your motor isn't seated correctly, which is a very bad day waiting to happen on a descent.

What I'd strongly recommend is taking your motor and both the old Kenevo mount hardware and a photo of the Levo frame pocket to a Specialized dealer and asking them to cross-reference the motor carrier part numbers. There are size-specific motor carriers on the Gen 3 Levo (S1-S2 and S3+ use different carriers), so you'll want to confirm the right one for your frame size as well.

Don't punch the tabs. They are structural locators, not just cosmetic. The TCU pairing point I mentioned before still stands. That'll need sorting at the same dealer visit regardless of how the mounting question resolves.
