Sprindex..... which one to choose if you are in the middle?

Hi everyone,
I'm about to mount a Sprindex paired with a TTX22 on my Forbidden Ecore.
Ftuned recommends around 500 lbs...
Sprindex springs have these ranges:
- 430-500
- 490-560

I'm basically right in the middle between the two, and neither is right...
It's true that it's slightly progressive, so I might try the lighter one, but what would you do?

They do have some progression and the Ohlins shocks use quite a bit of damping so you should be able to get away with less spring.
Shame the TTX doesn’t have HBO as that would cover you.

Are you a more agressive rider than average or less agressive?

If more agressive go the higher weight spring. If less agressive go with the lower weight spring.

Love the adjustabiity of Spingdex, disike the 20% progression when combined with highly progressive leverage ratios.

I'd buy 2-3 SAR (Super Alloy Racing) standard rate springs and test. That's my recommendation.

I find coil shocks problematic on a bike, because a bike is so light that even being slightly off on spring rate (due to rider weight change or a pack) really sucks. But on a full power e-bike with a proper rear leverage ratio like your E-Core, coil shock is 100% the way to go. The heavier bike, power, etc. makes being a bit off on spring rate irrelevant.

I've always wondered if there's a noticeable ride difference in these springs ($150) vs the standard fox steel spring ($35) to justify the 4+ times cost difference.

I had a similar choice, I started with a 450 SAR coil and I probably should be on something around 475-480. The 450lb spring was getting into the travel way too much and bumping off HBO too often, so I knew I didn't want the 430-500, but wasn't sure if 490 was going to be low enough, but I went for it anyway and it's been perfect for me on my last two analog bikes and the Druid Core, had it for a couple years now. I learned being slightly over sprung was really good for my riding style trail preferences and with the HP and nature of a coil it's still comfortable all day long, I haven't found any downsides yet.

No ride difference. Just a weight difference and a consistency difference. Shock springs are notioriously inaccurately rated.

I was told that Sprindex are often about 10% softer than advertised, which is a reason to... spring up?

The Fluid Focus preload collar is really nice if you're only running a few turns of preload and never want to worry about the OE collar turning.
