I haven't seen any discussion of this new bike from Whyte amidst the Great Avinox Wave.


On paper it might be the move to make for me, possibly over the Zendit. It has better spec for the money, similar geo (slightly better IMO), it likely has proper dropper insertion, and it looks great too, almost as good as the Zendit.

I'm slightly hesitant about 180/180 travel. That sounds massive, but I suppose it's only slightly more than the Zendit/Wild/etc. Would like to see some kinematics charts.

I’m getting one in asap. It’s one of the more interesting Avinox bikes I’ve seen so far.
From your experience testing bikes (and any knowledge you may have of this bike in particular) do you think that the 180mm travel would made a massive difference in how fun the bike is when you're not going full DH? Compared to something like the Zendit

Likely it’ll feel a bit less lively, depending on some other bike characteristics.

But for me, a bike that has excellent geometry, well balanced front and rear lengths, good suspension kinematics and a good spec can make even a long travel 180mm bike feel way more playful than a shorter travel bike with a lesser thought gone into it (eg XL bikes with really short rear ends, they go from playful to sketchy)

The Karve has excellent geo.
 
Of all Tsunami of Avinox propaganda that swamped the EMTB world yesterday, this is the one bike that looks interesting to me, and that’s from someone with 2 Avinox (legacy 😂) bikes in the garage.

We have a mid power bike already (Fuel+) so something big travel works for me. Geometry looks great, Whyte generally build bikes suitable for the UK conditions & have been good on warranty. I’ve ridden a Kado a lot recently, and whilst it looks awful, it does ride very well. This is the first bike they have made that doesn’t look absolutely minging.

In 11 months time when my C2W scheme comes round, this might be on the list to replace my somewhat fragile Mith.
 
Looks great, shame about the non removable battery. I didn't really intend to move away from Bosch but the M2S reports so far do sound good. Guess the high COG on the Avinox bikes is one of the other downsides compared to the Bosch, though?
I have an XL 2023 carbon Wild, I do love it but the back end has never felt as planted as some other bikes, no amount of playing with shock settings has fully resolved it, I think sub 450mm chainstays are too short on an XL at 192cm. My mate's privateer is an absolute tank, and I wouldn't want one, but definitely more planted on steeps
 
I really like the look of this, any whyte owner I meet always seem pretty happy with theirh bike. I'm not sure I ride enough chunky stuff to justify the extra travel but you always want it

The COG thing seems to get talked about a lot but are people genuinly that sensitive to it? Not sure if its just self-justifying fat downtubes or people can't ride with a water bottle or non ebike bike because the COG is too high
 
I dunno, it's pretty high on my Wild with the non-removable battery, I would like it to be easier to pick the front up. Mind you, I think rotating the motor so the battery slides under it is more effective than a shorter, fatter downtube, regardless of manufacturer, but that also doesn't look great, as per the Kado, Levo etc
And those slim downtubes do look good.....

@Hob Nob -you're a better rider than the vast majority on here by all accounts, and have ridden a lot of different ebikes, what do you think? Also same Q to @Rob Rides EMTB
 
I think its blown out of proportion a bit.

If the bike can fit only 600wh, all the marketing will say its necessary for balance, handling, better ride etc

If the bike can fit either 600wh or 800wh, everyone spec's 800wh.
 
Thought this one looked so good its mad the travels so big as the bike looks more like the whyte elyte than a big hitter 180 travel enduro.

I've always wondered about the lower centre of gravity thing.
Comparing the Avinox 800W battery to the Bosch 800W. The 'extra' length of the Avinox weighs approx 250g. Would that be noticeable?
Some frames have water bottles high up on the downtube. That raises the CoG quite a bit but never seen anyone mention a 700g full bottle affecting handling.
There's loads of stuff that affects CoG - weight of saddles, bar/stems, tubes strapped to top tubes etc - handling never mentioned.
 
As above, this is the one that looks the most appealing to me price/spec wise from the new Avinox bikes.

And I have very fond memories of my old Whyte T-130, I loved that bike!

Always liked the little things they did to make it UK slop ready, like the little screw in caps over the frame bearings and the customer service has always been on point from my limited interactions with them.

Right, @Dax. 23.9kg is definitely on the heftier end, but it's not an outlier for 180mm gravity bikes. Context helps. Here's what I can confirm from the April 2026 Avinox wave, pulling from my database and the press releases that dropped this week:

(Whyte figure per @Rob Rides EMTB's press release.) So 23.9kg is entirely typical for 180mm gravity bikes in this category.

The Amflow PX Carbon Pro with the M2S came in at a real-world 21.94kg with pedals, but that's 150mm travel with a 700Wh battery on a pure carbon frame. Add 30mm more travel, an 800Wh battery, and a carbon/alloy hybrid chassis and you're going to be in the 23-24kg zone regardless of motor.

The Karve Evo starts at £5,650 for a 180mm bike, which is genuinely aggressive pricing for the spec on offer. Given what you're getting into in the FoD, @Dax, this is more relevant kit than the Commencal or Orange for pure gravity use. Weight isn't really the conversation at 180mm.

Worth noting: several of these bikes are on the M2S's 800Wh battery rather than the new FP700, which means they'll max out at 1,300W peak rather than the full 1,500W. Not a tragedy, but worth knowing.

Sure would be nice if this current crop of released bikes were available in the US. Whyte, MegaMo, Atherton, Veldura, i'm sure there are others.

This bike is pretty damn awesome for the price.
 
Hopefully looks a lot nicer in the flesh. For some reason I really don’t like the red decal on the shock.
I have a Whyte , they always seem to get the colors wrong in my opinion , usually the low end get the better colour combos , other than some special editions

The lower end Karve , looks on paper more stealth and understated colour wise

Now the mid spec Mondraker Zendit in the green is super duper
