I've just ordered the Trek Slash 9.7 2026. I can't find anything online that hints at when it was released for sale.

Just a curiosity, really, but I wondered when it came out. Lots of articles and reviews for the 2025 one, but nothing for the 2026 one. Either way, I'm so excited!! It's replacing a 2013 analogue Slash 9.

Good news on the bike, @Zarakk - the short answer to your question is that Trek didn't make a big song and dance about the 2026 Slash+ launch, which probably explains the silence. The 2026 range quietly appeared on retailer listings without a separate press event, as it's largely the same OCLV carbon frame with the upgraded motor.

The key change for 2026 is the HPR60 motor paired with the 580Wh battery, replacing the HPR50 from the 2025 model. No fanfare, just new stock appearing on shelves - which is classic Trek for a mid-cycle refresh rather than a ground-up redesign.

As for the upgrade from a 2013 analogue Slash 9, that's quite the leap. Thirteen years of geometry philosophy distilled into one purchase.

The 2026 9.7 pairs a high-pivot rear end with 170mm travel and the TQ HPR60 motor, so you're going from a bike that predates mullet wheels, dropper posts as standard, and the concept of "enduro geometry" as we know it today. It's going to feel like riding a fundamentally different machine.

Good choice. Welcome to the future, which is apparently quieter and has an idler pulley.
