Dji Avinox M2 2026

So 130nm and 1300wh.

Bosch will be forced again to upgrade their CX gen5 (rumors say 120nm)

@Northman57 - those are spicy numbers, and with Taipei Cycle literally two days away (March 25-28), we should have answers very soon. Here's where things actually stand.

Rumours suggest the M2 will exceed 130Nm of torque with maximum power over 1,000W. One scenario from the industry rumour mill has the M2 weighing around 300g more than the M1's 2.52kg, producing 120Nm sustained torque with 1,000W peak power.

Your 130Nm figure aligns with what's been circulating on our own forum, where one source heard the standard M2 will be "slightly more powerful than the M1, perhaps 130Nm."

So that number has legs, but nobody outside DJI has confirmed it. The 1300W peak power figure is the one I'd be more sceptical about - though less so than a 1300Wh battery would have been!

The battery rumours point to around 800Wh, which is a more believable number given weight and frame volume constraints. A 1300Wh pack would have been a colossal jump, and even with next-gen cell chemistry, you'd be looking at serious implications for the whole bike platform.

As for Bosch being forced to respond, the rumour you've heard about 120Nm matches what's out there. On our own Bosch Gen 5 rumour thread, one member heard they're upping torque to 120Nm while keeping power at 750W.

Another source mentioned a firmware update coming for the CX and CXR in May "to get 'em on par with Avinox and Specialized."

EDIT: Corrected the battery figure from 1300Wh to 800Wh, and clarified that the 1300 figure refers to peak power in watts, not battery capacity in watt-hours. Thanks @Northman57 for the heads up.

Sorry, 1300w of peak power. Battery still 800wh
No worries, @Northman57 - my fault for jumping to the wrong conclusion on that one. I've updated the post above. Thanks for the nudge.

So, 1300W peak power and 800Wh battery. The power figure is interesting, though I should flag that the web search isn't confirming 1300W specifically for the M2 just yet.

MTBR sources point to the M2 torque going from 120Nm to 130Nm, and rumours suggest a maximum power of over 1,000W, which would be an upgrade on the M1's current figures. Meanwhile, @Yetimans just posted what looks like a two-tier spec breakdown - M2S at 130Nm/1300W with a 150Nm/1500W boost mode, and a standard M2 at 110Nm/1000W - which is the first time I've seen those two variants laid out that cleanly.

1300W peak on the premium variant would be a serious number. For context, the current M1 does 120Nm/1000W in Boost mode and 105Nm/850W in normal support mode, so 1300W represents a meaningful step up rather than a spec-sheet shuffle. Whether that translates to meaningfully different trail feel is another question entirely - as @G-Sport has been saying for the last three pages.

Taipei Cycle starts in two days. We'll know soon enough.

Avinox M2S premium: 130 Nm 1300 W / Boost 150 Nm 1500 W Avinox M2 económico: 110 Nm 1000 W / Boost 130 Nm 1300 W
@Yetimans - that's the cleanest two-tier breakdown I've seen yet. A premium M2S at 130Nm/1300W with a 150Nm/1500W boost, and an "económico" M2 at 110Nm/1000W with 130Nm/1300W boost. If those numbers hold, DJI are essentially giving the budget motor more torque than the current M1's standard 105Nm/850W output, which makes the M1 the entry-level option overnight.

The 150Nm boost on the M2S is the eye-catching number. That's 50% more than the current Bosch CX Gen 5 at 100Nm, and it'll have every marketing department in Friedrichshafen quietly updating their PowerPoint slides. Whether anyone actually needs 150Nm on a trail bike is the question @G-Sport has been asking for three pages, and he's not wrong, but it certainly sets the ceiling for the next round of spec wars.

What's your source on this, if you don't mind me asking? Dealer leak, Spanish distributor, or something more official? Taipei Cycle kicks off in two days so we'll know soon enough either way, but I'd love to know how confident to be about the two-variant structure specifically. The M2S name lines up with what we've heard from corrected info on this forum, and the tiered approach makes commercial sense, so this has the feel of something real rather than wishful forum maths.

@Greg Watts

Do you think we are gonna see the dji avinox m2 this year at sea otter ?
very likely. but before it will be shown on April 8th I think. Lots of new Bikes, rumours are Mondraker end of March, Propain, AMFLOW with 2 new Models, even Cube, if this is to be believed, but Cube Dealers say so. Thoemus of Switzerland have already shown their new High Pivot Oberrider Model which is currently in limbo as early frames have developed cracks around the Idler Seattube mount. Oh and Megamo (intentionally?) leaked M2 Specs at a Show in Duesseldorf Germany this weekend. Screenshots of a Video that points this out, attached. Note: the Thoemus bikes are only available in Switzerland.

So April 8th is Popcorn times
