Spesh delayed the G4 to get more G3s out does anyone think they'll now abandon G4 2 years early, and with a new update/light weight version (600wh, light parts) on way?

no gen 5 this year for sure.

No way it would be way to costly, also they would admit the G4 was a failure but no one knows how many they have sold in total.
IMO it was not a failure, but that's probably only my opinion.
Especially like the masculinity of the dowentube and removable battery that's why Amflow wasn't an option for me.

Agreed no Gen 5 this year. I would think some dealers are embarrassed at just how poor an effort the Gen 4 is over the Gen 3. Next bike is the 600w battery version in Gen 4 frame.

i like the admins have kept your gen 4  logo 😂
100% they will not release a new bike to address the short comings now. This is why motor updates and light weight versions are coming theyre trying to increase sales. As the other guy said if they abandon G4 now it will look terrible for the company and the bike.

Looking at some of the videos around in my opinion the Admins are bias to some brands and they don’t like it when someone comes along with actual experience and tells it how it really is. Just look at how many owners have come out and said the “ weight feels off” I’m selling my bike etc. Any way, I agree at some point they will have to bring out a better looking bike but not this year. There are so many great spec good looking bikes available at much cheaper prices it’s hard to know were to start. If I could find a better riding bike than my AMflow Pl I would own one.

Admins of where?

Genuinely interested, what is it that can’t be done on a Gen4 compared to other bikes? I’ve seen them out and about with people that wouldn’t leave the ground if their life depended on it to people that quite literally fly through the air or tear round corners and everything in between.

Have you found the moderators onlyfans page ?

We made this just for you. The Gen4 stripes anti-obese frameset option.

Can we accept that as our daily dose of Gen4 negativity and move back onto the main discussions without the boring (repetitive and pointless) amflow/gen4 bashing ???

You cannot have a non-removable battery for one thing. Plus, you cannot have a full 29er build? Only 2 things I can think of offhand.

Cool to notice you're super excited to the new version with 600W battery but before you order it I would advise you to sell the flimsy carbon fast since the second hand marked will be flooded with these bikes and therfore you will get a extremely low price and not enough cash to order the new Levo version.

You could easily use a permanent Loc-Tite formula, or perhaps an epoxy on the battery door bolt if you want to make the Gen 4 have a non-removable battery. Not sure why anyone would see that as plus though.

Even if you don't like Specialized's approach to building a frame with unsurpassed ease of battery removal, I still feel the industry is better for having one available. While this feature really doesn't hold much value for me; it appears as though Specialized's consumer marketing research indicated this was an important capability for many.

For me, being able to change the battery is fantastic because I usually don't need more than 600mAh.

95% of my rides are enduro, with a maximum of 1500m of elevation gain, 35km, and 2-3 hours. We only do longer rides a few days a year.

For this kind of use, an 840mAh battery and over four kilos inside the downtube makes very little sense.

I also prefer using a water bottle instead of a backpack or waist pack.

I got a 2008 Stumpjumper Expert many years ago and when watching a Video by Specialized, they called it's suspension a misstep. Ouch!

Now I have a Levo 4 Expert and it seems people say it isn't well balanced and there is a lot of what sounds like hate against it in this thread.

It's starting to look like I'm just not doing my homework before buying a bike.

I had a long discussion with a buddy of mine about e-bikes the other day. One of his friends said the gen 4 was “unrideable” but he and I both absolutely love the bike. IMHO, some people magnify issues and won’t move past them (“large” down tube, rear suspension design, etc). I think if you get a bike and make little tweaks if necessary, you get used to the bike and it can be amazing. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill.
TLDR: it’s a great bike but not perfect. Don’t have buyers remorse.

My Levo 4 is amazing. Rides great. Nimble, and jumps well too. I can push it as hard as I want and it’s ready for more.
I did my research, I made the right choice.
Weight …..well ok who cares ….motor helps a bit….
Downtube……….a lot opinions about size. Probably some projection going on🤣
Usually the ones hatin the phat tube in public, are loving it in secret.
I’m happy to watch people bash the Levo 4. My feeling are unhurt.

I'm pretty pragmatic about this. It is what it is and I'm going to keep using it no matter what I read or see on YouTube videos.

The reality is that it's probably overkill for my needs anyway. What I've noticed is that it eats chunk like it's nothing and I can ride through things that my last bike couldn't, and more importantly it's my first eBike and it allows me to ride more often because I can control how hard I'm riding.

As far as everything else goes, I just got a Garmin watch that I've paired with it to display my heart rate while I'm riding and I like the Ride summaries on my phone.

I haven't raced anything in many years and that was all road riding, so this is purely to get out and enjoy myself with a group of guys like myself near retirement age. I'm not concerned about how fast I'm going as long as I'm having fun and getting some good exercise.

You gotta think, with so much hate out there, that with the release of a bunch more brands and models this Spring that come Fall there should be some sweet "non-dentist" pricing available for these. And this would be from a Legacy brand that has great dealer support and warranty.🤔

I guess it really depends on the circles you travel in and how the entire market is going. I was only referring to what I read in this particular thread.

Frankly if there were lots of new brands, that would indicate a healthy market with strong demand. I've seen this in many markets. Everyone is making money.

When you start seeing discounts is when brands are pulling out or going bankrupt and the market is shrinking.

But all that matters to me is that I had a great ride this morning :)

Hi there

Recently my Garmin 1030 has been reporting battery charge percentage in place of rider power. Any clue how I can fix this please?

Family was visiting right after I downloaded the Gen4 power update and didn't have a proper chance to test it out until now. I have been following this thread daily however to understand it better.

For aggressive riders there is a major flaw. I have looped out dangerously twice over the past 12 days narrowly avoiding serious injury. Understand, I have never looped out on these two 4-5' steep up sections for over 30 years. I was completely taken by surprise and didn't understand what was going on the first time, but after the exact same scenario the second time yesterday I knew it was not me but the new software.

Before the OTA update I could always count on Turbo 100/100 getting me up these sections easily. After update there is a night and day change. Here's what happened: When approaching steep ups, the technique is to accelerate rapidly, in Turbo 100/100, in gear 3 (third easiest gear), spinning up the lower half. Then, as RPMs slow w/ the grade, you can just make it all the way up in Turbo 100/100 as long as you keep the pedals turning, no matter how slowly. But just as robikinkela has described, after updating you suddenly hit a "power wall" half way up. The pedals just freeze on you. You end up pushing with everything you've got, but instead of continuing up as before, you loop out w/o warning before you can figure out what's going on. It's like "WTF, what just happened? I've never had this before." Maybe Specialized is trying to keep the bike from shooting out from underneath us with the added power? That would be reasonable but it's too excessive a change I think.
Both of these crashes came on a lava flow ride with large lava chunks scattered everywhere around the trail. First crash on a 5' very steep up, I came down on my back hard on a large lava rock smashing my right sacroiliac joint. If I had landed on that rock a few inches more centrally I could have fractured my spine, possibly been paralyzed from waist down. Spent the next 12 days living/sleeping on ice pack, max doses of Ibuprofen/Tylenol.

Finally got up to ride again yesterday. Went around the first crash site but the same thing happened on the next one. I immediately recognized what was going on and w/ flat pedals I pushed back off the saddle as the loop out started, and managed a couple backpedaling steps before the weight of bike pushed me over backwards. Fortunately landed on a rare smooth lava plate and rolled backwards twice but with no injury. Thank God for strong durable skin suits or I would've been bleeding profusely with the lava taking skin off.

I have attached my assist settings to make sure I don't have them wrong. Please let me know if they should be changed. I do not use micro tune but basically the settings I have are close to the preset race settings (No time to waste). Eco is 100/60.
