Hi everyone

I have had enough with SRAM AXS on my Whyte E160 RSMX , I already had to change the pogo pins on my GX Eagle derailleur and had two batteries fail , one replaced under warranty , the other out of warranty. Its failed again after a year

I want to go back to mechanical and actually change to either 10 -11 speed Shimano

MY rear wheel is WTB i30 with an XD driver , so I guess I will have to get a new rear wheel with a HG hub

So I was thinking do go either 10 speed cues or 11 speed SLX

Any thoughts or ideas

Cheers :)

Or just a regular 12-speed GX Eagle derailleur and pair it more adjustble XO shifter. For me biggest problem on Linkglide is shifter ergonomics. And I would stay away cues if you go Shimano way.

My kenevo came with AXS and I was annoyed with that for a year before switching to 10-speed linkglide. Linkglide was a big upgrade for me, but I agree the shifter is not great. The performance, shifting under load, is miles ahead

I run SRAM X01 11 speed on a couple of bikes and rather like it. It's light and durable and shifts as well as my AXS. I find it appropriate for an e-bike.

That said, Transmission shifts notably better.

If money is no object I'd buy a Transmission X01 cassette & the 90 mechanical derailleur whatever it's called.

It sounds like you are having contact issues between the battery and connector. Have you tried removing the battery every couple of rides and spraying both the battery contacts and the pogo pins with a water dispersant, then wiping down.

I do this on my XO every month, otherwise you can get corrosion.

Go 10 speed CUES but buy a Madrone Jab derailleur with the udh mount and a short cage. Would be an incredible ebike drivetrain.

This sounds like the kind of tech question where Greg could help. Not sure how you summon him, maybe go to the greg page and ask again.

don't need AI , Sram crap design :) , those pogo pins are crap design , should be the battery side , anyway , I bought an 11 speed xt linkglide upgrade kit , fitting tomorrow , £138.00 cassette , shifter , and derailleur and chain , got a new wheel also to fit with HG hub and a new DHR 2 , sorted ( hopefully ) , drop the motor to help routing and swap the rear brake line to the left cable port.

I couldn't come to terms with AXS. For me it's the ergonomics. I went back to Shimano manual, which I prefer. As far as Shimano vs Sram, the difference is minute. I can get along with either manual system. If I were in your situation I'd just get a manual Sram shifter and derailleur. You can pick them up at fairly reasonable prices. That way you don't have to change your cassette and rear wheel. You can sell your AXS to cover the cost.

I removed my Shamino Hyperglide 12 speed and went to an 11 speed XT Linkglide.
It feels a bit more industrial but very positive and you get more feed back through the shifter
when you can tell you just need a bit more pressure to change under load. And the cassette and chains are cheaper and last longer.

Has anyone here tried out the Wheeltops electonic shifting derailleur?

It seems to get solid reviews and has the ability to be paired with any cassette you'd like, which is a huge advantage over Transmission.

I'm only considering because I have a Wild on order and it has HCR. So going to an electronic derailleur and seatpost adds about 1#, but does notably clean up my cockpit to just the rear brake cable.

I bought wheetop electronic shifting. Just took it off as I got sick of constantly having to adjust it. It was way more trouble than it was worth. If anyone wants mine I would be happy to offer a great deal on it. derailleur and shifter module

An ebike does not need a 12-speed anything for sure. BUT I would be very concerned that an HG driver will never survive the torque unless the cassette has a full carrier. Those smaller rings destroy alum drivers even on the acoustic bike. Dealt with that for years until XD and microspline arrived. Steel is an option for some, even then good luck replacing a cassette after it is worn.

I guess my question is do people find they are destroying HG freehub drivers in the ebike world?

I have wheeltop EDS 2.0 on my two e-bikes with Shimano linkglide 10 speed cassettes 11-48. I had to adjust the derailleur cage (2-3 mm to grind a bit) to avoid collision with the chainstay on the smallest sprocket. Frames :Dengfu E10 and Seroxat.

Damn, I was planning on ordering one this very day actually.

Do you have the most current version? Tell me about your problems.

Cost shipped to Austin?

Has it been reliable and stayed in adjustment otherwise?

I have a wheel top on my hardtail since the wireless makes for easier swaps to single speed for winters. I’ve had zero problems, it’s easy to set up, shifting is fast, and I like the ergonomics more than the AXS paddle. Battery lasts forever too. Plus you can micro adjust each gear if you need to (in addition to whole cassette index) although I found that unnecessary.

I am in San Antonio and I want $250 for it. It is like new with less than 20 miles on it.
