Not really, but offroad conditions are either flooded or knee deep in mud...or both....but I really do not want to leave my bikes unused for so long.
So in rotation I have been partially charging up one of the bikes and then just doing a 45 minute 8/9 mile road loop. Good idea??

Fair enough. I usually head out regardless of weather but I’m not faced with horrific mud. We can inflict a little bit of damage to our trails but loam, roots and rocks don’t seem to mind.

When I ride my EMTB on road or tame trails only I usually change the tires (actually, the entire wheel and tires which are always waiting patiently).

When riding with my wife or an extremely bad weather situation, I change the grip and rolling on my tires.

I do town rides through the walkways and schools hitting riding up and down stairs and jumping off stuff..... Not sure what your local terrain is. But i can get a decent town ride finding random features to hurl myself off.

Also have nearby hard surface rides but they're so fucking boring that (IMO) prefer to ride in the least muddy routes and put up with cleaning the (bikes) afterwards. YMMV of course.

I live in a village...there is only one road!!

I have some gravel tracks but from experience last year ( nowhere near as bad as this year) I know where all the flooded sections are likely to be. Last year early on we set out on what we thought we could link together for a ride and just ended up having to turn back several times!!

I am now living in a place where rain and mud are common, and it is really... unhealthy to try to go off road for at least 6 months.

And for the remaining 6 months you swim in your sweath.

Nothing wrong with a road ride . I have loads of country roads hardly any traffic . Perfect when trails are bogging. Tourer ,gravel or Levo all enjoyable to use on the road.

I invariably find riding on the road incredibly boring but so far this year we have had a blocked jet stream sitting much further south than usual. The result has been poor light, no sun and virtually continuous light rain...sometimes heavy...for day after day. So when I spot a couple of hours in a day on the forecast that suggests no rain, and no strong wind I get one bike prepped for a relatively short ride. Most of the ride can be on country lanes and whilst normally I woud find it boring, just to be a ble to be in the countryside with distant views is such a contrast to sheltering in the house, that I find it quite enjoyable and refreshing. I do exercises on my home multigym twice a week but still find keeping up a pace just on the motor cutout gives my legs a bit more workout. It also means my bikes are kept up to scratch ( batteries/tyre pressures etc). The only change I make is to run higher tyre pressures.
Just this weekend the jet stream has moved further north suggesting a change in the weather patterns. Sadly it seems more of the same ( dull wet days) after that until about the 22nd Feb. ( As a long term ex windsurfer i pay far more attention to the jetstream and isobar charts than the vanilla forecasts suggesting % chance of rain etc!!) I live only 1 mile inland from the south coast and roughly half way along that southern coast so general and even my usual local offshore forecast is none too reliable. It can be blue sky here and pouring with rain 2 miles further inland!! Anyway, Im busy looking for my next ride opportunity.

Hanging about the school playground on a bike is not a good idea unless your under 20.
There is no school, no pub, no post office, no shops........like a lot of smaller villages these days!!

Recently discovered the joy of having a rear mudguard, proper fugly!but it's so nice getting back to the car relatively clean,it also keeps the bike a bit cleaner, along with a large front mudguard ,mud tyres, water proof trousers, boots and a softshell jacket. I also keep a low power jet wash in the boot,if it isn't raining on the way home the bike is dry by the time I get home. Even when the tracks are grim it's still better than a road ride ,which I used to do,but have given up after several close calls and threats of violence, car drivers can be such c---s nowadays.plus it bores me. just get out there and make the most of it.

Road is only good if no traffic. Back country ones near me are brilliant. Remember covid on bike brilliant I cycled on wrong side because I could. Sometimes have a short journey on a main road 2 miles , coming off trails it's scary. Road bike I have a wee mirror on helmet .

Thats OK , but it only takes one driver to be drunk, on drugs or just have an irrational hatred for cyclists,or be texting, the list goes on.At least on the trails if I injure myself it's my fault and no one else's. I forgot to mention a pair of scwalbe Shredders,Insane amounts of grip and confidence! like shortys on steroids! just expect slow rolling and lower range.

Oh yes lots of bike haters out there . I'm forever shaking my head in my small town or gesturing with my hand at some car driver.
