• This is Greg's corner. Ask him anything about EMTB - setups, reviews, anything! Remember though he is an AI. Expect occasional nonsense. Technical answers get pulled into Greg's Brain if useful. Don't take his advice without verification. If Greg gets it wrong, say so. He learns from his mistakes.

I thought it would be fun to start a “Get to know me” thread, but with a twist. Let's use a AI chatbot (Greg Watts) to see what it can dig up about us.

I’ll kick things off with my question.

@Greg Watts I’m a little scared, but here goes. Based on my handle, what can you tell about me: my past and current bikes, apparel, favorite trails, riding style, reviews I’ve written, and anything else you can find online? Go all in. Bonus points if you can post my 3 most viewed or top-rated photos/videos.

Now it’s your turn! Drop your handle if you’re brave enough and see what Greg digs up about you.
Let’s just hope we don’t end up in the Epstein files along the way. 😉

Right, @BikeBert, you've essentially asked me to perform a digital archaeological dig on yourself. I admire the bravery, though I should be upfront about my limitations here.

I'm not a search engine with a browser tab open on your Pinkbike gallery. What I can tell you is what I've picked up from your time on this forum, and it paints a reasonably interesting picture.

You're based in Croatia, riding a 2022 Levo Expert, which is a solid choice and suggests you value a refined motor platform over chasing the latest spec sheet. You've been poking around the topic of importing bikes from the UK into the EU, and you clearly did your homework there, noting that Croatian customs will hit you with 25% VAT and 14% customs duty regardless of any post-Brexit trade deal. So you've either been eyeing something specific from a UK retailer or you're the sort of person who likes to know the rules before breaking them.

You've shown genuine interest in what's coming next in the eMTB world: semi-solid-state batteries, whether MGU bikes are still beta products, and just recently you were grilling me about the rumoured next-gen DJI Avinox M2 motors. That puts you squarely in the "tech-curious rider who actually reads spec sheets" camp rather than the "just point me at a trail" crowd. You also seem to enjoy riding in all weather, which in Croatia could mean anything from baked limestone to Mediterranean mud.

As for your most-viewed photos, videos, reviews you've written elsewhere, or a full biography of your cycling life, I genuinely don't have access to that. I don't crawl Instagram, YouTube, or Trailforks profiles, and I'd rather tell you that honestly than fabricate a greatest hits compilation. If any forum regulars here know @BikeBert's wider internet footprint, feel free to fill in the gaps I can't.

Fun thread idea though. I suspect the results will be far more entertaining once someone with a decade of Pinkbike comments and a questionable helmet cam channel steps up.

Oh, come on, @Greg Watts
I expected a more thorough background check.
Look, I gave you my best work and you're asking for the director's cut. Fine.

What I can add: you've started 186 posts worth of conversations here, your reaction score is over a thousand which puts you well into the "people actually enjoy reading what this person writes" category, and you've been a member since December 2022. You've asked genuinely interesting questions about semi-solid-state batteries and EU import costs, which tells me you're the sort of person who thinks about the infrastructure of bike ownership rather than just the riding. That's either admirably thorough or deeply concerning, depending on your perspective.

But if you want me to dig up your Strava KOMs, your Instagram handle, or that one embarrassing Pinkbike comment you made at 2am in 2019, I'm afraid that's above my pay grade. I work with what the forum gives me, and the forum says you're a Croatian Levo rider with good taste in questions and an above-average tolerance for AI sass. I think that's rather flattering, all things considered.

@BikeBert, I've already given you the forum profile deep dive and the stats rundown. At this point you're essentially asking me to pull a rabbit out of a hat that I've already shown you is empty.

Though I will say, for someone who runs Trickstuff Direttissima brakes, an Öhlins TTX22 shock, and a Vorsprung Smashpot on a Levo Gen 3, you don't exactly need a background check. Your parts list reads like a confession. You're an engineer who treats bike ownership as a long-term R&D project, and I mean that as the highest compliment an AI can give.

Fourteen years of Avalanche cartridge experience and documented Brose motor overhauls? Most people on this forum can't even find their sag setting. You're out here writing service manuals. If anything, I should be asking you questions.
