Will do. Hopefully with a few pictures of it at the Chch bike park, Cheeseman, Mt Hutt and Dunedin - that's the planned itinerary, anyway. We'll see if the weather plays ball.Keep us posted as to how this all pans out. Hopefully exactly![]()
Have you explored this further yet?I'd stick to the normal charger unless you need it topped up quickly. It'll do the battery better long term not being fast charged all the time. I held off getting one as the normal chsrger does me for the riding I do.
Probably will get a big power bank and a fast chsrger eventually for midday top ups though
Not yet as I get enough range for a decent ride on the 800 without needing an lunch time charge up. I'm down tuned a decent amount thoughHave you explored this further yet?
I'm running 2.6 Conti KR RE without issues, I even have a RRP rear mudguard mounted and still plenty of room.Anyone running a 2.6 tire in the rear (bonus points if it’s a schwable Albert gravity ). Seems like ample room to fit, but I haven’t seen official guidance on rear tire size. 2.6s are easier to find at the moment
Side note - I am at close to 600mi on my rear tire (2.5 soft gravity Albert), and it’s starting to go. Still rideable probably for another 100mile. Impressive given the power this bike puts down
Oh nice.. maybe it’s just my poor search skills but I didn’t see that guidance. Gtk!I'm running 2.6 Conti KR RE without issues, I even have a RRP rear mudguard mounted and still plenty of room.
Not sure what you mean by official guidance, but the manual says 27.5x 2.6 max, 2.5 recommended for rear.
For reference its on page 9 of the paper manual - tech specs - lower/middle left side.Oh nice.. maybe it’s just my poor search skills but I didn’t see that guidance. Gtk!
I ended up getting this 1kw Segway battery that was more than 50% off during Black Friday. If you want a battery pack to do a full (100%) charge of the 800wh Avinox, or to do decent top ups on 2 or more bikes, definitely get a bigger capacity battery. I charged my bike from the Segway battery as a test and it got to 92% - so a loss of around 25% to inverter and inefficiencies (heat). Not yet as I get enough range for a decent ride on the 800 without needing an lunch time charge up. Probably end up with a Blueitti elite 200 or DJI 2000. Will have a better look at the time though. Want something with at least 1500wh capacity though as it will be handy to get a couple bikes on for a quick lunch boost if needed.
Depending on what spec/weight the new Avinox batteries that arrive next year I might not even bother at all though. Could swap in a full battery quicker than the fast charger would take or even just chuck on an extender when the inevitable Official one appears
35-40k and 1500-2km vert is doable for me on the 800wh, and tbf the bike can go longer than I can anyway as I tend to ride in lower power modes for the majority of my rides
gotta be a dreadnought Ewhere’s the e-dreadnought???
The non-idler DC bike is coming. Sponsored rider Teddy Hayden was posting it for a while.

I’m kinda surprised they released those Ti bikes, but have a feeling they made a grip of cash on the e-bikes and are indulging in side projects.
gotta be a dreadnought E
The Dreadnaught-E is definitely coming, you can 'shadow' (pre-pre?) order it already in some locations.I was pretty disappointed with a couple hardtails.
Was hoping for that e dread.
By DC you mean dual crown, as in a downhill bike ?
That would seem an odd place to start deleting high pivots, as it's one of the places I don't mind some drag in the drivetrain. Six bar seems to be the way forward, crossing my fingers for an e dread or dread v3 in that format.
Oh, you definitely need wheels,Whelp. I think I am done (I don’t need wheels.. I don’t need wheels..)

Folk need to be patient ehThey're missing a trick if they don't!
Sorry, yes, down-country.DC = Down Country I assume…
Haha.. well I did curse myself because - no joke - next ride I started getting my rear wheel to loose spokes and untrue.Oh, you definitely need wheels,The Roval Traverse HD's I put on are sick. Definitely add to the front end rigidity (with the zeb) that I find helps with the hugely capable and predictable front end in corners. A touch more 'pingy' through really root heavy sections. 1/2 kilo of rotational weight gone, to boot!
But the angel on the left shoulder is sensible and right, you don't really neeeeeed them, your bike looks sick.
Flashback to Ollie & Cahal railing Cumberland on the Lite and Core. Those bikes were built for that and I doubt most riders on here are approaching that level. If the e dread had had domestic out at the same time as the corE I would have bought that for sure in the knowledge that I have always been a big travel guy. Now having ridden thd CorE for three months I am glad I got to have this bike. So capable
Haha. Great analogy. I think I am a short travel convertFlashback to Ollie & Cahal railing Cumberland on the Lite and Core. Those bikes were built for that and I doubt most riders on here are approaching that level.
People fixate on travel equaling more capable, safe or whatever. Sure, with an e, you can lug around more travel than needed. I am guilty of a bias in associating people riding mega travel rigs as the guys I see on the streets here in the land of Freedumb with modded & lifted trucks going to the grocery store and getting like 10mpg.

Depends on your local terrain.Flashback to Ollie & Cahal railing Cumberland on the Lite and Core. Those bikes were built for that and I doubt most riders on here are approaching that level.

My point is more that I fail to see how 20 ml or so of Xtra travel would actually benefit me. I do know that I can usually lap faster on a 250 than a 450 and also that Jet on an XR100 would almost certainly smoke me on eitherThey are much better riders than you or I.
Jett Laurence could probably beat you (and I) on an XR100, but us sh*tty riders need a new CRF450 with Works suspension to get 13th in the Novice race.
