Pre-order starts next month - Next Crestline Avinox frame set

I wonder when the first 15 orders get notified about any free product they will be receiving. I don't know what time the 181.2 sale went live last week, but I think may have a shot at being one of the first preorders. Did anyone get a free dropper or brakes for the 181.1 last year?

I had mine in 2.5 hours after the email on thursday. The emails for me was 11:30est and I was at 2pm with order number 6264. I saw a guy on FB with order 6198. So, that means I out of the freebie zone 😂

shiiiiit :ROFLMAO:
Yeah I see that an admin said the emails went out at 11am and they started selling quickly. oh well lol

I'm sure there will be some cancellations, but still the rate these bikes sold out is impressive!

It just goes to show how much money some of the big manufacturers are leaving on the table when they say they 'can't make any money' selling frame only. They need to offer premium motors with the customer's choice of battery size, RE (when applicable), shock choice & maybe prewired SRAM drivetrains and they can charge a premium.

Oh well.

Good heavens these things are HOT!

I hope I lucked out and got one coming my way, but I am kind of worried now with all the interest and that I went through my lbs vs the site directly at 1pm on Friday... There was a couple options left in my size on their site, and so I opted to go through my lbs to support them and get a deal on parts too. Just hope it all works out seeing how quickly they vanished!

Raw Carbon, Rh-2, 440CS, 800wh, Fox Air

Managed to bag a Plaid Edition with FOX DHX2 :giggle: Can anyone give me a good reason NOT to pair this with a FOX Podium Inverted 170mm fork? I've heard good things about this fork but would appreciate any input from someone who has had experience with it on an ebike, even if it's negative.

Is Ridewrap the go-to for frame protection in Sydney area or can someone vouch for alternatives?

Cheers!
Having a bosch cresty i would not entertain 10mm less travel. 180/180 just pairs so we'll.

Nothing worse than being underpinned on the front

What's the general consensus with running a shorter fork? I was planning to run my zeb in 170 or 160 with the 161mm rear travel setting. I popped the geo numbers into a calculator and saw like 6mm bb height drop (for 160mm fork), which seems reasonable. Less concerned with steepening up the head angle/seat angle and losing some reach.

Personally I feel like it's a long travel bike that handles/feels like a short travel. Pink Bike test mostly said the same, for what that's worth to ya. In that case why not take advantage of all the travel available? But otherwise, you're right, it works fine riding it how you want. At the end of the day no matter the travel, correct suspension is set up matters the most.

Really depends on your riding style and terrain. I've run it with a 170mm fork and 160mm rear. No issues, loved the way it handled. Tried it in the 180mm setting with a 180mm fork and it's exactly what you would expect. Less nimble, more squish etc.

Im a pretty light rider (140lbs) ive been thinking about running mine at 170/161 also.

Anyone know if the RS181.2 is going to come with headset cups already pressed in? 'Watts in the Box' says the bike comes with a Cane Creek 40 but am going to need a reach adjust headset.

Hey all I've read all of this thread and sorted through half of the 54 pages of the 181.1 thread. Long story short, I have one of the original RS75/50's with the Bosch V4 race motor. I was one also of the lucky ones to secure an order for the 181.2 last week, but I am having second thoughts/buyer's remorse on how much better than the 181.2 will be than the original RS75/50 I have. I am acutely aware that Avinox is hot shit right now and offers loads more power but TBH I ride my Bosch on Auto most of the time and don't even ride in in Race unless there is a super steep climb i am trying to get up.

That and the fact that as a Clydesdale, I often run my Bosch 750wh battery down to under 10% makes me skeptical about switching over the the Avinox that as well as it offering more power also sounds to use more battery (understandably).

I figure I can probably get $2,500-$3K for my old frame but still puts me out of pocket $4-5K to upgrade an already sick bike to the latest version.

Wondering if anyone who switched from the Bosch Crestline to the Avinox V1 can chime in and talk about how much different and hopefully better it is.

I also assume that if I change my mind I can find a buyer for the new frame that just sold out in 1 day.

thanks in advance

I saw a clip out there with an unboxing and the headset was pressed in already.

Wondering if it comes with the Cane Creek as it mentions on the web page, or the Works adjustable reach headset as the email seemed to indicate was a highlight of the new "dot 2 Plaid" version:

The reach headset is an optional purchase. If you look on the same page there's an area of "watts comes in the box" and it states its a cane creek headset. I believe your snippet is a feature list.

181.1 came with cups pressed in. I suspect the pre-pre orders got the reach adjust and the pre-orders the CC.

Just got the confirmation from my shop that I am indeed going to be getting myself a Plaid in Raw Carbon!!

Totally forgot to ask them about the "special fork" being offered on the site too when I placed my order. Just shot em a message asking if it is still available and for any details they can share...

Putting together the component list now!

I don't have either frame, so this is a general sentiment / feedback: you sound like you're quite happy on your bike and the way you describe your riding (mostly in auto), you may not get that much tangible benefit from an upgrade.

I'd say sell the frame on and ride your current bike a bit longer. There will be an even greater Crestline in 2027, I'm sure. Or the current one will become more available and cheaper.

Congratulations! Which fork are you trying to buy, the Zeb or 38? What other components are you going to use? Im currently trying to find a good deal on some X0 kit. I should have bought stuff before the holidays 😬

Thanks a bunch, so glad I got that email confirmation today- it was quite nerve racking wondering if I actually got one or not!

I believe the raw carbon finish I ordered showed a Fox option to match the shock, but cannot recall the "mysterious details" and it is no longer listed. I have a factory 38 already, but admit I am intrigued by the offering as my current is a 170mm and I plan to go to 180 one way or the other.

I am with you, my girl will be getting the XO stuff too, why not?! I ordered from my local shop as they offer some discounts when scooping up a frame and building it up (~20% off roughly, depends on specific parts ordered). I also had credit from a demo (Amflow) they will also apply. They didnt even charge me when I broke a spoke on their demo either!

Here is the planned build, still waiting for the quotes for actual discount for parts I still need:

Fox 38 180mm (mystery fork or my factory)
XO eagle axs derailleur, cassette, chain, axs rocker shifter
Praxis 155mm cranks (carbon if I can get some in time)
Hayes Dominion T4 brakes
OneUp v3 dropper post
We Are One Triad wheelset with Onyx Classic hubs, Berd spokes (owned)
Schwalbe Magic Mary radials (owned)
Race Face Era carbon 55mm rise bar, Turbine stem, Chester fat grips (owned)
Ergon SM-E Mountain Core saddle (owned)

Just curious, did you go for alpine chalk or raw carbon?!

Not sure how many folks are lucky as yourself to have more than one Crestline allocated to them!

May be hard to justify the cost "practically" using your formula of costing you $4-5k more for a similar bike you own with more power you are stating you are not interested in.

However to paraphrase the words of Troydon himself, the .2 is "the quietest and most powerful eeb to date, up and down" and then dont forget he already "gave you his word that this frame will make you feel sharper on the tools than ever before"!!

You cant put a price tag on that.. My vote, keep the new one and sell the oldie!!

I went Alpine Chalk because I have a warrantied Levo frame in raw carbon already. I am second guessing my decision, but the bike will still ride the same, so all is well 😂.

I never had a LBS build me one up, but sounds like a sweet deal with the discount. In all honesty, I would probably have done that if given the option.

Sounds like you already have it planned out for the most part. I have some parts I’ll be using from the bin, and probably snag a few off the Levo.

Im still riding off this high from securing the frame last Thursday 😂

Love it @FrogSkunk !

The frame is simply gorgeous in either finish and the Alpine chalk has a lot of great contrasting parts adding to the beauty of the design! Dont think you can go wrong with the finishes offered this "batch".

I do plan to build the bike myself as I enjoy the process and bonding with my new gear. Just getting the parts through the shop for the discount and to give them support. I am also coming off a Levo 3 and the parts mentioned I owned (fork, wheels, etc) will be swapped over too.

Ohh yeah, I am super pumped up over here also and just sent Crestline an email to see if that mystery fork is still available!

Funny story, I did not get an email notice from Crestline. I was just perusing the site on Friday and simply lucked out - they happened to only have a couple options left, and only my size RH2 was remaining in the dropdown menu. My eyeballs popped out of my head and my heart started racing, and I thought about it for about 10 minutes then decided I better make the call.

Glad I did, by the time I checked the site again later they were all gone!

Yeah just hold out for the M3 motor rumored for 2027! 😋

I ended up with the air shock on my frame purchase, I'm curious if anyone is running a Push shock and if there are any clearance issues with the push spring within the frame barrel. Thanks

I discussed this with Push, converting my Push 11-6 from a KSL to Crestline.

They said the below:

We don't have the RS 181 in for testing right now so therefore we cannot develop the ELEVENSIX fitment for it at this time and I can't advise using another fitment on this bike since it voids our warranty. It's not just the tune that's different between the ELEVENSIX shocks, it also can be the hardware, spring rates, and shock bridges for clearance reasons. The best option on this bike is to use our VT/X (we can convert your ELEVENSIX to this depending on the model year) or SV8 shock.

I know there were shock tunnel fitment issues with the 11-6 rs180 (bosch gen5). I suspect the same for the rs181. Keep in mind the crestline frame gets updated 1-2 years so I dont see push developing a specific shock for crestline. The sv8 should fit. havent dealt with the vt/x yet.
