Warranty lead times on Bosch motor in a cube.

Anyone experiencing long lead times on Bosch gen 4 motor in a cube ebike.
Been off the road since November now and don’t seem to be getting any further forward. Bike still under manufactures warranty.

YES! My neighbour had this issue. I think he waited 6 months for a replacement. Thankfully I had a spare and got him up and running again while he waited. A new motor cost him $800 CDN. Out of warranty.

Our local Bike Shop(s) don’t keep them in stock. The turnaround for a rebuilt motor from CycloChrome (Hull, Que) was only a few weeks. Or Motor Centre in the UK (Pete).

Emailed Bosch with a grumble and also called oneway the cube uk importer both apologetic and helpful. bike was sorted within a week and all good now. Could have been co-incidental but shop that was dealing with it did say that oneway had rang the shop to see “what was happening with the warranty claim”. Thank you Bosch,oneway and lbs.
Back at it now and I new motor is definitely quieter and bike rolls better when freewheeling and I could be imagining it but seem to have more zip. 🤔

Forgot to mention
Flow app now showing my bike as a black silhouette hardtail ,instead of the image of my actual bike. I know it’s only a small gripe but I am gonna try and get it sorted at lbs.

I’ll add my small gripe also…recently took two EMTB’s into the local Bike Shop ((Trek) for the updates. Usually it’s free and takes about 3-5 minutes. This time, they said, that there’s a cost . I gave them a side-eye look along with a “wtf”. It ended up being free.

I know local Bike Shop’s need to survive and sometimes we need them for certain things. But when I want A Maxxis Assigia 2.6” tire, I want to walk out with that tire …or at least only wait several days …not 3 months.

Distribution suppliers for local Bike Shop’s need to figure it out. I try not to shop on-line too much, but sometimes I have no choice. (Small components with overnight delivery).📦

I shop local as much as possible but sometimes the online price can be as much as 50% less so it’s a no brainer. But I will say over the years I have spent £1000’s of pounds with my LBS and have had some very good discounts from them. Plus they are (manager even gave me his personal No) always on the end of the phone if I have a problem. I’m not sure who was holding up my Bosch motor warranty claim so I’m going to give LBS the benefit of the doubt. But as previously stated in this thread the same week I contact Bosch and cube importer and politely kicked off after a 2 month wait with no news bike was sorted. 🤔🤔🤔
 
you should check that the warranty on the rest of the bike is extended to cover trhe time not being used while waiting for it to be going again
