Moon epower 2000 light and giant cable fitting to reign e+ 2024

Hey everyone,

I'm new here but not mtbing.

I'm trying to fit a Moon epower2000 light using the specific moon (giant) wire connection.
I've plugged it into the white connector etc and powered up.
However no power is registered at the light and it won't turn on.
I've updated the bike software.
The light has its own on/off and mode button built in. There is no WiFi switch but it will run without.
YouTube has no options.
As far as I can tell it's plug and play...

Any suggestions before I smash it on the floor?

Two possible problems.
1 . The light power connector needs to be enabled on the motor.
2. The light itself is way too powerful to be connected directly. The EU only tell the manufacturer's to fit low power lights on bikes.

How do it enable the light connector?

As far as I can see the light is 6-12v
I've tried the red and white connectors and no luck.

Depends on what motor?
Bosch Gen 4 used to be software enabled. Don't know about the smart system.
It's the wattage that's restricted for the lights.

It's for Giant Reign e+ so it's the giant motor. I've only got the mode switch on the top tube and not the bar mounted one.

That connector is managed by the Giant system, so you will need to assign a button on the RideControl Ergo 3 to turn the light on and off. Alternatively, you can add a second RC Ergo 3 and assign that function to it.
However, I believe the factory setting is configured so that the light turns on automatically when the bike is switched on.
Another option could be connecting the light to the red connector that comes directly from the battery power(check specs).

Wiring loom to headset for Yamaha motors generally have following, model dependent:

A. 6v - (9w max) light circuit controlled via RideControl light switch WHITE JST 2 pin female Positive WHITE - NEGATIVE grey. Circuit has matching connector for rear light, again model dependent.

CAUTION. Over current will blow motor circuit board fuse / breaker. Not user replaceable.

B. 36v - RED JST 2 pin female Positive YELLOW - NEGATIVE black.
Use step down adapter for USB or lights. Plenty on AliExpress and DIY with JST male plug.

CAUTION. Live constantly while battery installed, non switchable. Waterproof where necessary. I added waterproof DC connectors with covers when not in use.

Unused plugs are 'generally' labelled with voltage and polarity.
