This isn’t a question for hardcore downhill or MTB riders, I know.... Don't laugh, please, but I have a cat, and I’d like to go on a multi-day trip (in hotel or B&B) while my wife is away (she travels abroad part of the year). He’s used to walking on a leash and traveling everywhere with us. I’d rather not leave my cat with someone else or in a cattery, since he’s very used to being with me.

I’ve seen a few options online, but I’d really appreciate some first-hand feedback. Has anyone here tried a handlebar-mounted pet carrier for an e-bike that actually is safe and works well?

We have a 'puppy cat' that would like to ride with me on my bike for sure. She sleeps on me every evening before going through the cat flap on her nightly mouse hunting expeditions. When I go outside to the garage to work on the bikes she walks ahead of me, waits for the door to open, then settles inside watching my every move until it's time to leave then again walks ahead of me. She's a two year old rescue cat.

We have found our Kvisp carriers to be excellent. In fact, I bought my cargo bike for the sole purpose of taking the dogs on rides together. They have built in straps in the front and back that latch on to your pets harness preventing them from accidently or purposely getting out. There are several ways to mount the carrier to your bike. You just need to check them out and see if they will work for your bike. Enjoy

I love cats and they seem to love me. But I would never put them in a carrier and go out on my bike unless they got in there voluntarily.

Someone invent a pet helmet ££££ or is there already one out there ?

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, @GolfMaster52 ! How much does your dog weight? My cat is pretty large, 6.5 Kg...
