Don't know about that, maybe Taiwan? But anyway, frames don't collect and send your personal information directly to Chinese government.

I agree with you on that point for sure.

But yeah, the frames are made in China and Taiwan and they are only "assembled" in the US.
.

Having a design studio in the USA may be a way to claim being American. For a bike manufacturer that is not an American company or “made by an American company” then it requires an association to the country. Similar to Teewing promoting to have a design studio in Italy, Teewing may claim that they are an Italian brand following that logic.

As great as the Bosch G5 is, if you want to sell bikes it seems like it is a requirement currently.

I honestly don't think you will see any of the larger and well established bike brand immediately jumping over to Avinox. Most of these companies have multi-year agreements with motor manufacturers so they can't just switch up whenever they want.

I think we will continue to see new bike brands and small mom and pop type bikes using the Avinox and the other motor vendors will be pushing to update their motors.

Why I would think that?
because sram products are developed in schweinfurt germany, that company was called Sachs once before they got bought and ended up in the Sram corporation

and specialized ebikes are developed in cham, switzerland.

when you now apply the same logic as you did that makes them german or swiss companies

Both US brands, like Santa Cruz.

Exactly what riding data does the Chinese Govt want ? It's a bike, not a drone capturing video. The App only needs an email. I use a fake one. Some of the FUD spread here is ridiculous.

Whilst I wish Shimano and Bosch would catch up. Manufacturers are finding if you fit an Avinox Motor to a new model EMTB. Good sales seem to follow. It seems some are fitting them just as a marketing ploy.

Well, you would connect it to your phone & from there, it's a digital Narnia for anyone who fancies the contents therein. I'm no tin foil hat guy but we know already no one from Meta to TikTok & much less governments is your friend when it comes to privacy.

They want all the data, information is power. What they use it for, nobody knows, maybe to stop global warming? People should just think where their money and data goes.

you are not the brightest candle on the cake
Probably, because I have no idea what you are saying. Everybody knows that all these brands are from California. Dudes from California established all of them. Who gives a shit who owns the companies now, I'm talking about brands. SRAM aint german brand because they bought some german factory. Spacialized is half owned by Merida, should it be called Merialized, a swiss/taiwanese brand?

You specifically said personal information. What personal information ?
frames don't collect and send your personal information directly to Chinese government.
If you really are concerned about someone getting your personal information. I'd be more concerned about your, phone, computer or car. Where do you think nearly all the electronics are made ?

The only way to protect yourself from Govt's getting your personal information, is to completely air gap yourself. Good luck with that. I wonder how you'll post in this forum ?

Do you have any evidence that the Avinox App is hacking my phone. ? Any journalistic reports ? Anything ? I can find nothing.

Data being leaked from a phone leaves a digital trace. Even if it was being encrypted, there is a data trail. There is zero evidence of this.

Anyway. The fact remains. Avinox Systems only collect an email and your ride data. And the ride data is only uploaded if you select the ride to upload.

If you really have concerns. Give a fake email like I did, and after pairing your phone. Unpair the Bluetooth. Remove the App. This would create an Air Gap. But don't forget your pin number you entered into the bike or the bike is locked out.

But please. If you do have evidence. Please share it. :)

Of course I don't but you're merely a short Google away from discovering a world of Chinese mendacity. One aspect of which is you can't trust Chinese companies because CCP & while ymmv it is naive in the extreme to think DJI could resist the Chinese state should it decide it wants a piece of the data action.

Are we still in the "if" part?

Of course Chinese have all access to ALL information from DJI/Avinox.
LIkewise Facebook with US of A gov, and all others.

Now, not being a Person of Interest... who cares, really?
Everyone is wathing all the others.
Imagine the data size...
