Just heard Specialized is supposed to send a new firmware for our Gen 4s. One for the Sworks and another for Non-Sworks. More Torq and Power? Anyone have any more info?
I guess that’s an end to that rumour then.

I hope it will be more powerful than the DJI Avinox, because even with my S-Works in Shuttle mode, the Unno and Amflow leave me standing on steeper uphills. 🥵
And we hope that the Levo will be able to switch automatically like the DJI, meaning when I shift but can't pedal because I'm standing and riding on rough DH trail, the motor would spin that beautiful front sprocket a little.🙏

Looks like the non-SW versions will get Torque / power bumped up to SW levels. i.e. removal of the software restriction.
No change for SW apparently.

Hope it’s true, a sensible capitulation!

Decades of experience working for major manufacturers makes it very difficult for me to believe that Specialized actually changed the date a non-disclosure agreement is lifted so close to the alleged launch. Sure the product itself may get delayed, but I've never seen a manufacturer change the date a NDA is lifted so close to lifting it. These agreements aren't nonchalant; they're global contracts that are synced with third-party retailers and a long-planned marketing campaign.

the lbs already know, they were shown what the new fw is like and that it will be released in November. There was a conference, they showed it there. But they are not allowed to tell the users. At least they are not allowed to announce it, but if you ask your lbs they will tell you how many W and Nm each bike will have

Can you tell us how much the SW W and NM will get and how much the Non-SW W and NW will get?

I promised I wouldn't publish it. But it will be very powerful, I didn't regret buying a Gen4 and not another one with a DJI motor. But call your LBS and they will tell you.

Got it, can you confirm two separate firmware updates? One for SW and one for Non-SW?

Yes, but if you set to high the shuttle mode on Non-SW and set to off it on SW they are equal powerful. My gen4 SW without shuttle mode the peak power is 100W less. Few people use shuttle mode, most people turn it off even in SW, so 720 W is not even 620 W, let alone 666 W.

Although I don't know what this big secret is for, Bosch announced the 100 Nm update months before, every lbs advertised the 85 Nm gen5 as 100 Nm in the summer. Even though the SW and the normal Specialized won't be equally powerful, there will be a difference. However, many people prefer to order Unno or buy Amflow, at least until November, until they find out that the Levo is the top.

What I find weird is that according to you we can simply call a LBS and they’ll share the information, yet you’re steadfastly guarding it. Doesn’t make sense to me. Something is sketchy.
