Hi all new here - use to ride regularly and race also many many years ago

Looking to get a emtb so I can get a bit further than my Trek Carbon Superfly hardtail but what to get ?

Amflow looks the best but for what I'm going to use it for would it be worth it

Looking at the moment for a good deal

Ebike Centre in Birdham near Chichester do AMflow, Trek, and other brands.

Hard to give a dvice without knowing your budget, the type of riding you do or intend to do and your skillset. As far as EMTBs are concerned there is a big divide in terms of price between hardtails and full suspension. Hardtails are the lower cost options and most are perfectly fine for mellow trails, fireroads, farm tracks, bridleways etc, and better than full sus bikes on tarmac. If you go for full suuspension EMTBs there are 2 broad categories...trail and enduro. ...often defined by the components on the bike rather than how the brand may market it!!

Thanks for this

With regards to budget i think I have enough for a good quality bike

I’m looking for a good quality full suspension cross country bike that will take a good downhill hammering down tracks etc, (not a downhill park) when needed although I’m getting on a bit now 60 + and enough power to last a good 30 odd mile cross country ride

Difficult to answer I suppose

I'm not sure it's that tricky an question really. If you've considered an Amflow then you're thinking ~£6k and a Levo, Rail, Kado etc. will do what you want. Heck, a few months ago you could have got a Raymon for £2k from Paul's Cycles that would've been ideal. Best bet if you aren't set on a particular bike is go to your local bike shop if you like them.

Agreed.....get a bike from a local lbs so you have some backup. Everyone has their favourite brand so you will get a mix of recommendations. Personally I would go for a Bosch equipped bike and don't discount new but previous generation bikes which can be a lot cheaper. My particular favourite brand which I would not hesitate to recommend is Whyte

Welcome
Bosch for me too and I've had
Tq, shimano and brose but always prefer Bosch but we are all different 👍

There's practically nowhere around the South Downs that a straighforward 150/150 trail bike won't cope with. Most of it you can do with a weedy XC bike & an enduro bike is overkill for 90% of the trails. After that, it boils down to brand, geo, battery etc.

Take my advice though - watch out for the tree roots at the bottom of the nort west side of Cissbury ring, They're trying to kill you.

Best decision I ever made concerning riding was getting an emtb.

I’m in Chichester so it’s more kingley Vail/trundle and south downs way for me
We're slso in Chichester 3 minutes from Centurion Way. Ride Kingley Vale, Chalkpit Lane, Literary Trail, Venus Woods, Adsdean, and everything in between. We (wife and I) have January 2022 alloy (non smart) Bosch Trek Rails with upgraded suspension etc. Mines done over 5,000 miles and wife's about 2,000 miles - can see no reason to buy new bikes. Get our motors serviced by the Ebike Motor Centre in Fordingbridge.

Thanks for this - appears we will be riding the same trails 👍 and like your thinking on bikes also

I’ve gone with a Moustache Samedi 29 Game 3 750wh collecting on Saturday from my local store 👍👌
