Just got off the phone with Troydon regarding 600Wh battery for RS181

Troydon wants to know the demand for the smaller, lighter battery. How many of you would seriously consider purchasing the 600Wh battery?

I think especially with the Crestline design easily supporting battery swaps, nearly everybody that has one would want this option. I would if I had one.

NEVER. If a bike was perfect in all respects, but had a 600 Wh battery, I would NOT buy it. Not interested--EVER.

My preference is a range extender for the 800 over a 600, if that opinon has any relevance to the conversation.

I'm guessing Troydon is trying to understand if it is worthwhile procuring a % of 600wh batteries to option the next build.

I certainly would if i was in the market for a new E bike as I place an importance on handling rather than range.

I prefer the 800wh battery. Wouldn't mind dropping another pound by making the battery fixed vs easily removeable.

I think the weight delta between the two options would have to be more significant than it truly is for me to invest in a second smaller battery. That said, I rarely (almost never) deplete the entire 800 - but it’s good to know it’s there.

For me, it’s the location of the extra weight.

It’s nice to have the option of losing a couple lbs for shorter rides or park days. I don’t have a Crestline, (yet) but in my current ebike, I have my stock 750w battery for longer rides and I have a 500w for shorter rides or park days. It’s an easy swap and I can feel the difference in the handling. It’s not huge, but it is noticeable.

Yep, this. I have 600 and 400 in my bosch cresty and the 400wh is so much fun., the 600 is hood and there's so way I want the heaviness of an 800wh.

I’d be more interested if the frame could accept TWO 600w batteries, or one 800w , or one 1000w, etc, etc…. ;-)
