No response as yetAnd......?
There is one shop, but you are better off upgrading to the EP801. Better seals and thicker bearings where needed. Shimano does not make any spare EP800s so your forced to upgrade. The one shop in the UK will custom make gears for you if your dead set on keeping yoursbut are there still no one who does them in the UK?
I don’t believe you can upgrade easily to the 801.
When I enquired about replacement options it was confirmed that none of the ep8 system is transferable. So that’s wiring, display, batteries, and motor all requiring replacement. Even the cheaper ep6 unit was very expensiv.
It would stop people buying complete bikes so not good for the industryYou'd think Shimano would supply EP8 owners a full upgrade kit (at a sensible price) to install an EP801.
Understood, but i have only heard about one shop in UK that can fix that motor. So its either throw the bike out like garbage, or throw the new motor and computer and wiring at it. Shimano really screwed the pooch not having replacement parts, then when you do upgrade the EP801 is plagued with shut down problems after 500-900 miles.none of the ep8 system is transferable.
