When I buy a complete lowest price bike just to get the frame, I save all the low end parts and put them back on when its time to resell..I did. Don't regret. Costs about the same as low spec carbon bike, but I get the s-works motor (as lame as it is that they're software throttling), and I don't have a bunch of parts I don't want.
If I didn't hate selling things on FB marketplace or wherever so much, I'd probably buy the low spec and part out everything I replace.
Yep that's what I always do. Brand new parts for the next buyer too, so often good value for the next buyer, and some safety that the fork isn't clapped. When I buy a complete lowest price bike just to get the frame, I save all the low end parts and put them back on when its time to resell..
Still waiting on my frame to get here.....That's a great present for your friend!! Having not seeing the frame in person yet, is the paint finish smooth?Working on mine as we speak. I liked the paint job being different, and I’m using some parts off of a GEN two Levo. Using my Trust Shout fork, which still works great and I love it. I am also rebuilding the GEN two to give as a birthday present to a friend who turned 71 next week. Please post your pictures when you finish the builds; I’d love to see them.

Yes, it is smooth with a Matte Finish.
what frame
2026 Gen 4 S-Workswhat frame is this?
For £6500, it would be nice if Spec gave the frame a nice paint job. Can the
S-Works Turbo Levo 4 Frameset
be custom painted without affecting the warranty?
It's interesting to note that there are actually 7 different S-Works frame colour options listed in the parts guide under the battery door replacement table.

Finished my Gen4 frameset bike build this week. I've owned a Gen2, and Gen3, This bike rides completely different from those, evolutionary for sure. Very balanced and planted on the trail. I weighed the complete bike, as picturedHow many of us are building our 2026 Gen 4 S-Works bikes from a frame only kit.
That is sick and suspiciously light, is the 48,2 lbs(21,9kg) without the pedals?Finished my Gen4 frameset bike build this week. I plan to run the 600W battery most of the time and minus 2.2 Lbs, making it a daily driver at 46 lbs. which is on par w/ previous Gen 3. Very pleased with the bike/performance so far. Ride On!
I did. Love how the bike rides, but nothing but headaches and numerous trips to the dealer with power shorts to “adjustment fix” to new battery harness nest plate to now just blew the motor last night while 10 miles deep in backcountry. Had to coast and walk out. Bike only less than 6 weeks old. Baffled by it. Sad cause bike is really fun to ride when working properly. So far only 1 week of trouble free riding. Manufacturing quality control is of question I think, especially on a frame that costs so much. Buying different bike later this week, complete bike that was less than the frame. How many of us are building our 2026 Gen 4 S-Works bikes from a frame only kit.
Maybe they knew of the problem and sold them anyways, knowing they had the spring loaded nest in production to replace the ones people are/will have trouble with...They sure came up with the fix rather fast!Mine is S4, 54.8 lbs with SWAT bag full, 54.0 lbs with it empty. She’s bit of a pig, but doesn’t hinder the ride, if not feels more solid and stable blazing trail in comparison to my Levo3 with all the same parts and a good few pounds lighter. Levo3 maybe a bit more agile, Levo4 more stable to me. Definitely feels stouter and likely stronger. Snapped air shocks in half and rear chainstays on Levo3 carbon. Dont feel like would have the same issues on the 4, but so far reliability of motor and electronics quite poor and not solid. New harness nest plate did fix the battery connection issues though. Feel like one big test dummy on this bike that Specialized has been developing and testing for a few years. Dont understand how they didn’t catch any of these issues in the development before production finalized, so production has to be the source of problems. Nobody cares anymore, quality lost, overseas at least it seems
They did! But +3 weeks wrestling without before finally arriving to dealer was a headache on new bike, especially since I ride about 5 days/week. Definitely stoked on the fix. Motor failure, not so much, especially on full gear, beltless driven system. Even my Levo3 motor lasted about 3,500 miles before crapping out. Not sure they have a fix for failed motor clutch sprag yet?Maybe they knew of the problem and sold them anyways, knowing they had the spring loaded nest in production to replace the ones people will have trouble with...They sure came up with the fix rather fast!
