YT SL ebike

Yea, I took advantage of the 35% off deal and picked up a white Decoy SN MX Core 2. Maiden voyage yesterday. Seems to ride more like a regular bike than ebike. Fazua motor has a similar feel to a Shimano in power delivery. Definitely less torque at low cadence. This motor likes cadence. But at 60 RPM or higher it's similar the Shimano Trail set to Medium @ 60Nm when using Fazua Rocket (red mode). Still a very capable motor. I was worried it would be very under powered compared to my Decoy with a EP8 but the SN handled some of my steepest uphills easier than I expected and not really any harder than my EP8, just slower. One thing I noticed is the constant shifting of gears to be in the right cadence. Gears seemed short. Could be the 32 chain ring I changed to for climbing. 1 hr ride took 30% battery. 47.2 lbs is heavier than I expected but lighter than my Decoy full fat Core 2 (54.6 lbs or 47.8 without the battery). Oh and I LOVE the Maven brakes.

I hope yt will make a light weight e-capra with the avinox motor. If they don't, ill probably get rhe velduro rogue if it ever becomes available in Europe.
But I would love a dji long travel yt option the most.

I was hoping to be around 45lbs but my core 2 in xl was the same weight as yours. I recently swapped downhill casing Assegai and dhr2 along with 180mm fox 38 factory and DHX coil shock and only gained around 1lb.

Interesting that yours came with Mavens, mine came with TRP DHR Evos. Really like them though.

Those prices are tempting but I don't think I can bring myself to buy a Fazua equipped bike.

You would also have to ask why are they selling them at 50% off after only being on the market a relatively short period of time?

Same here, I was close to pull the trigger yesterday but the SN 29 just came out and is already half price while the regular Decoy with is 6 year old conception is much less sold off made me think twice...

They had the normal Decoy with a much bigger discount initially when the sale went live but rolled it back. They had the top level Decoy for €4k briefly, now it's back to €5,599.
 
I expect they have lots of stock to clear out (like most bike companies) that is sitting in warehouses clothing them money to store. Also I expect that there is going to be a new full fat Decoy out soon seeing as the old one came out in 2019 (I think).

saw the price and was surprised they are heavily discounted so soon and with all the motor issues I am not going to buy one plus I recently bought a 2024 rise h30 for $3179.
 
I reckon the next YT e-bikes will have Bosch motors and the one after that will have the DJI as I expect they’ve already designed, ordered and built by now.
 
Man Fazua really made mess of things. They had Transition, Santa Cruz, Pivot and YT on board. I can't see them ever topping that portfolio again. Not sure where they go from here.

it's a pity, on the paper it's exactly what I want, 480Wh (like my spe SL with range extender) and a light motor...

Just looked at a 2026 Heckler SL yesterday. It had the updated Ring Controller and shop thought it had the 480wh battery.

Of all the SL motors that I have rode, the Fazua works best for me. I had a ride on the new YETI MTE and even with increase in NM it still did not have the low end grunt of Fazua. It was also louder at RPM.
 
I expect one of the problems is that newer motors like the DJI aren’t that much bigger or heavier yet offer so much more power.

While it works it amazing. My brother has one but still only 800 kms on the odo. The only annoying fact is that you never know when it could fail
 
They’ve probably had them sitting in a warehouse somewhere for the last 6 months but need to shift the existing bikes first, hence the recent huge sale. I’m happy with my super cheap Shimano powered Decoy MX, I pretty much expected a new one to drop shortly after I bought it,
 
Lots of ppl on reddit with no bike and no money. All they got from YT is a mail about restructuring.

It’s really dodgy, I had an YT in the past but will never risk it anymore

I'm sure Fazua, Fox, Sram, are all owed money. It explains the crazy sale prices on everything. To get as much money before the company lock down. I feel bad for the people who recently purchased a bike and then getting the dreaded email from YT.
