I want to take this chance to share my experience with my new Amflow PL Carbon that I ordered from the Ronhack website. I’d never use them before and I’m happy to say that my experience with them was very positive. They were responsive and helpful whenever I asked.

Based on all the positive bike reviews, I placed my order in January, knowing from the Ronhack rep that each bike is special ordered from China, and that it takes several months to receive it. My bike came in April and I’ve been riding it for the last month or so. It’s an incredible machine, pictured here, with capabilities that exceed my own, proving that I really need to up my game. So far, the bike has performed as advertised, but there were some issues with its setup that I think are worth sharing…

Unlike all the unboxing videos I’ve seen on YouTube, as well as Amflow’s own videos, my bike came in two boxes, one for the bike and one for the wheels, and was less assembled than expected. In my case, I had to do the following additional assembly -

- install tubes and tires on rims
- install rotors on wheels
- install gear cassette on rear wheel
- install real wheel on frame
- install chain

None of this is a big deal, especially if you have a little experience and a bike stand. The hardest part for me was getting the cassette properly installed. Since Amflow didn’t provide the special tool to tighten the cassette, and I didn’t have one, my local bike shop did that part. They also helpfully checked my work, recognizing the brakes required adjustment and that I managed to install the master chainlink backwards (duh).

Overall, I can recommend this bike and Ronhack.

Interesting to hear about the surprising additional assembly. Curious if the distributor had any info regarding that. I'm assuming it is a manner to cut/control labor costs from a manufacturers perspective. Disappointing in that a bike of this price point requires more than typical assembly and tools.

You are in the wrong sport if you are whining about this.

Ebikes require a lot of maintenance and these are all things you will change out constantly.

I agree that maintenance is part and parcel for mountain bike and e-mountain bike ownership. My point was that typically, the manner in which manufacturers ship bikes is that there is less assembly involved than what PowDog experienced.

I would be surprised if the bikes we get from Amflow in a couple weeks come shipped that way.

My guess is that they ship in two boxes to avoid shipping one massive heavy box. Defiantly cheaper to ship a frame size box that weighs in the 40 lbs range then a whole bike size box around 50 lbs.

If you buy the bike from Amflow anywhere in the world other than the US. It comes in a single box with little assembly required. If you buy any EMTB from a third party. You get whatever the third party decides to do to save on shipping.

The shipping and unboxing component of this thread is a review of Ronhack. Not of Amflow. That said. Amflow may need to change the way it ships EMTBs to America, because of the new Tariffs. And we all know who is responsible for that. 🤭

At the time (and maybe even now) I didn’t have much choice of distributor for US delivery. For me, even if unexpected,it was worth it.

Similar for me. I read quite a few negative remarks for RonHack, and I did not want to get scammed. Later, I saw one for sale from someone who had purchased two from RonHack, but ended up only needing one. He had to wait a few months, but then it was drop shipped to his location with no issues. I feel as though I kinda lucked out.

Thanks for the report. I have been interested in this bike since I am also a retired commercial DJI drone operator. DJI definitely knows about motors and sensors. I do want to test ride any new eBike, as I have found that the "feel" of the motor is essential to liking/disliking a bike. Hopefully that will come into reality sometime soon, as I am in the hunt for a new eBike.

I imported mine directly from DJI China 10 weeks ago into the USA (Arizona) and it came in two boxes. Main box bike and associated components and the second box was the two wheels. I think they are all this way now.

Mine came into Australia from China about the same time, and definitely was in a single box, with the rear wheel attached, but front wheel detached in the same box. And just the bars that needed to be fitted.

Just wanted to give a positive review for loomenade.com. Nothing but goods things to say. I ordered my Amflow Carbon in April. They sent me a note indicating when the bike would ship from China, how long to the U.S., and expected delivery date. They also forwarded tracking info as soon as the container was on the ship, so I was able to follow it along. The bike showed up at my house pretty much exactly when they predicted. Packaging was very good - bike box was packed inside of a wooden frame.
