Hi guys. We all know Gas Gas future is kind of a myth so far bur, what about bike lifespan? I mean, you guys in usa / canada have bikes from this brand, not so many here in Spain but now are really cheap because I guess the brand is selling the whole stock. Actually I've found this bike brand new for less than 2600 €. Just components are more expensive that the amount I'm suppossed to pay for. What do you think?

That frame is made by Raymon (I am near sure), so maybe will still be around for any bespoke frame parts and bushings needed. GasGas is just starting to make their own new generation frames, rather than source from Raymon. I also found GasGas prices too compelling to ignore (and frankly many other traditional manufacturers are insane with prices for the cheap component spec).

I purchased a newer generation MXC4 which was, I think, made by GasGas but designed by Kiska? Anyway, I know that it's a risk for frame parts, but obviously components are all high quality and made by other manufacturers that will still be around if GasGas folds.

I nearly bought a Raymon based GasGas too, but the frame geometry just seemed a little less ideal than the new ones (particularly Chain stay length). If I am honest, I am probably not good enough to have noticed.

It's basically a Raymon with new paint .
For the money it's a steal . Some parts are cheap like headset but just as cheap to replace when required. It's says tubeless ready but they are not , you'll need to do a proper tape up if you want to go tubeless. I've clocked over 2000 miles on mine before I got a fault code 73 which ment a new motor . But was replaced in less than 2 weeks and that was with a volspeed V3 fitted " Yamaha diagnostic doesn't show them in use " .

Indeed, I was investigating and found that the model I wanna purchase, is that R Raymon model:

As you quoted, the frame is a risk because I don't know if I'll be able to find some spare parts such as derraullier hanger actually, but the rest of components (DT swiss, Formula,...) have replacements. Yamaha Airdrive (i think is a PW-ST?) scares me a bit because I found some complain posts abou it. I testes it in flat surface and the bike was light and smooth. I want it as a secondary bike because my main one is an Orbea Oiz (no ebike) but I want the ebike just for Sundays =)

I've been dealing with the idea of purchasing a Turbo Levo Carbon comp 2020 with less than 1700kms and battery at 100% life, with Sram XXI AXS in a bright condition for the same price. What do you think?

Sorry for the big message and thanks!

Thanks mate for sharing your experience! That what I was reading about: that fault code 73 and it scares me. I would like to know if it would be possible to upgrade into a different engine.

And that's true:it's a bargain for this price!

I wouldn't worry too much about the error code , Yamaha have very few issues compared to Bosch or Shimano .

Well, however more Bosch and Shimano engines have been sold rather tha Yamaha engines

I own a Trail 3 with pw-st motor and put 2400km on it in a year. I have also had it chipped since new with VOLspeed 3. Been a great bike for price other than battery quitting on me. Took about a month but got a new battery on warranty and back on the road. I am leaving chip out from now on not sure if it caused battery problem or not but bike uses way less battery power now without chip.

Thanks mate for your experience. Maybe the chipset didn't help the battery lifespan
