Article The Story Behind the Unno Mith

I went to Nirvana down in Surrey Alps during the week to pick up my Orbea Wild from some work being done and asked about a Demo on one.............No chance, but he said they don't need to demo them, they are selling out already.

I Dont need a new bike, repeat after me
I Dont need a new bike,
I Dont need a new bike,
I Dont need a new bike,
I Dont need a new bike!

It’s a work of art. I have done some carbon cloth repairs on my cf model airplanes and getting a perfect exposed weave is very difficult, if you move the cloth a half mm after the glue starts to set it’s ruined cosmetically. It would be interesting to see strength tests on these CF frames. I found the CF planes I got from Asia were heavier and not nearly as strong and stiff as the stuff from Europe, both the cloth manufacturer and the glue used make a huge difference. I used to use West Systems epoxy, crazy expensive, then of course vacuum bagging, getting excess glue out is all part of the art. Beautiful bike and really nice parts. I want one!

The carbon weave reminds me of the original (2007) Ibis Mojo I had that was sadly stolen. Beautiful bikes and attention to detail is missing recently with a number of the bike brands and this is a stunner. I can't wait to see one in the flesh.

I keep telling myself that it’s just another e-bike and it won’t look anywhere near as beautiful covered in mud anyway.

But then I thought of Gillian Anderson (yes, I’m of a certain age!) with a bit of mud on her but it wouldn’t dull her beauty and now I want one even more. 🤪😂

Mind you, more seriously, all this ‘no chance of test rides’ and ‘we can sell all we can get’ type attitude sucks.

This sometimes is an industry that offers to sell you a high priced umbrella when the sun is shining isn’t it…

Like all the recently announced ‘boutique bikes’ with a certain motor, you’ve got to be some hardcore fan (or putting huge store in reputations and/or reviews) to be spending £7-10k on something you can’t ride before committing.

Good job I don’t need a new bike at the moment.
