Looking to install a dropper. Was looking at PNW but no idea what diameter and travel to pick up. Having a hard time determining what I need. Anyone installed one already

Yes 30.9mm. I also went with the Giant Contact SL 125 mm.
I am 6ft-2in. so the seat post is all the way up. Should have used something with a little more travel.
Also the action is tight. Next time will try the OneUP 150mm.

I am hard on my bikes, so that will be soon.

I ordered the PNW Rainier Gen 3 dropper 30.9mm / 125mm for my Stance a couple of years ago and have been very satisfied. I'm about 6' tall.

I also did the PNW Loam, 120mm, 30.9 diameter. Cable routing was a hassle, I had to drop the motor, run the cable under the motor and then up and behind to the seat post hole.
Don't make the mistake I did, I fought with it trying to run the cable above the motor. :)

I am toying with the idea of a dropper for my stance e+2 but the measurements are confusing me because of my normal riding position.
I measured my normal saddle height as 140-150mm above the frame.
I measured the insertion depth as 325mm.

Looking at the giant sizing chart (Giant Dropper post sizing chart) it suggests the minimum exposed length for the 150mm dropper is 203.4mm, so at its shortest it would be 50mm longer than my riding position?

This is confusing me because my son has a trek bike with a 125mm dropper and that lowers to approx 60mm above the frame???
