EP801 cuts out at high cadence when really going for it

Hey all, I'm on a Transition Repeater with EP801. I've got an issue where the motor will cut out when I'm at a high cadence in boost really grunting to get up a tecnical, rooty pitch. It's like I hit the max power output and the motor cuts out suddendly. Doesn't do this at a lower cadence, but there's not enough power to clean these climbs unless giving it my all and spinning.

My riding buddies on Levos don't have this problem, but I'm also a fair bit heavier than them.

The place I ride a lot is steep, rooty lava rocks that are often slick. Cleaning the 8 or so crux moves even in boost is HARD (both technically and physically) and pegs your heartrate. It's a great VO2 max workout! I'm 200 lbs and can put out decent power.

Is this a known thing? Any tuning solutions? The new race mode? I don't need more power, I just need it not to suddenly cut out when I'm really smashing up a section.

Does the screen dropout when it happens, or just the assist? Any idea what your rpm is when this happens? I regularly hit above 125rpm when climbing and never have an issue.

I assume the screen stays on, but there’s no way I could look at the screen in these situations. It’s only a momentary cut out but results in a hike-a-bike.

It only happens pedaling fast, in boost, when trying to clean a slower speed, ledgy tech section and I’m grunting as hard as I can. I assume I’m hitting a power limiter of some sort.

The only times my motor stops is if I hit the speed limiter, or stop pedaling with carryover turned off. Have you tried setting the carryover to max and see how it goes?

Apologies for digging up an old thread but I experienced this today on my Rise.

Had a short but super steep climb so pedalled into it but the motor lost power as I hit the incline and I had to hop off. A bit later there's and up and over rock that you need a bit of speed for and it did the same thing, although the over run got me over it (which is set to the medium setting).

It's fine on long sustained climbs, regardless of steepness, just seems to lose power if I have to pedal really fast in a low gear.

Is that the issue, cadence too high?
