What did you buy your ebike this week?

After trying to use the Peaty’s Fidlock bottle I won as part of the pack from EMBN, I saw one of these at the local bike shop on their bargain table: Dakine 5l Hydration hip pack (w/2l bladder) and decided it was a better option.

I’ve also gone tubeless for the first time, so wanted something other than a backpack to put a tubeless repair kit and mini pump/CO2 canister in for my increasingly longer rides.

A new XO flattop chain, I nearly cried at the price.

Also a pair of Crankbrothers Stamp 11 flat pedals to go with my Stamp 11 clipless ones because I’m bored of constantly swapping pedals between my KSL and my DH bike. And also 2 new pairs of flat pedal shoes because they were cheap and I couldn’t say no 🙃.

Wife has at least 6 x the wardrobe space as me. What's it stuffed with? Shoes and 👜
She probably has more cash sunk into those shoes and handbags than you do in your bikes.

But before you get all virtuous, don't tell her about the spares and tools, general workshop stuff like work stands, tyres, boots, clothing, gloves, helmets..........and the rest! :ROFLMAO:

You mean all the stuff that's also used to maintain her blinged Trek Rail? Ah yes.

Bought a Mondi Raze Carbon R in the January end of season sales, this will save my Mondi Crafty from the winter slop & to spur me get me back out riding after I had a concussion on the Crafty in the summer. This will hopefully speed my return to riding fitness as the head wobble symptoms took a long while to clear . Surprisingly my uphill slog Strava segment times aren’t a million miles off my last analogue rides on a hard tail nearly 2 years ago but they feel blooming awful. Noticed my bike handling skills have also declined so that needs some time to build back up & a light nimble bike will hopefully help on the nadgery trails (While my legs and lungs cry for mercy).

Tried out the new shock 😲
What an improvement, great feel and support..
The 30mm carbon wheels are great too..
Unfortunately I clipped a tree and snapped the magura master cylinder MC side ..not very strong ..
So ordered a new one..

Arrived last Wednesday but I forgot to spam-post🤭

IMG_7055.jpeg

Fresh out of the box 😎

IMG_7088.jpeg

What it is😜

IMG_7068.png

How it was sent as a new bike 🙄

IMG_7103.jpeg

First ride (actually 2.5mile pedalup) @ Bpw on Saturday 😎

Bought some aftermarket cnc brake levers from OAK components (Germany) and they were delivered today (bloody ups are on my Shitlist!)

IMG_7112.jpeg

You’ll notice 3 sets as we have a few bikes🤭

The trp levers are hopefully fixing an annoying issue with the DHR Evo brakes as the original levers were just too far away from the bars for my (small) mrs to reach comfortably - she’s hoping to have a better fit with them and see if they’re actually the great brake they’re supposed to be 🤔

Shimano levers for my Norco and if I’m not convinced that’s improved matters then I’ll fit my SRAM Maven’s & the gold Oak levers😎

Rich.

So…..

IMG_7117.jpeg

Fitted the Oak levers to the Trp m/cylinders, was ~30mins for the first and about 10mins for the other 😎
Probably fitting to my mrs’s Frs tomorrow for the weekend to test🤔

Then…

IMG_7121.jpeg

Fitted Oak levers to Maven m/cylinders…

IMG_7124.jpeg

Can see a standard SRAM lever on top of one of the Oak items & an assembled lever & m/cylinder😎

IMG_7125.jpeg

Finished pair😎

Suppose I need to fit the Oak levers to the Shimano XT brakes on my Norco (for bling and hopefully improved breaking 🤔)

Rich.

I'm all for additional bling, but those ones for the Mavens look no different other than being gold?

Front and back?
Yep, front and back. The back tire is slightly more reasonable. The front tire is unlike anything I have ever seen, except for motocross tires. I like STEEP loamer chutes, so I'm stoked to try these out. I'll report back when I get a chance to test them in the forest.

I am a little worried about how they will feel on hardpack dirt jump lines, but we'll see how it goes.
