What sealant for E bike

So eventually got my first puncture after 10 month, just wondering what's pour in tyre sealant is best for e bike
I didn't put any in as it came tubeless ready when I purchased the bike

While it may have been tubeless ready ..you really should have put some sealant in straight away ( maybe that puncture you've just had would have sealed )
I'm using Peatys at the moment ..seems to be working well ...
There is no specific sealant for ebikes ( or if there is its just marketing twaddle)
 
I use whatever i can get at a reasonable price.
Currently using Hutchinson, (very much like stans) from Decathlon at £27 for a big bottle

You should generally top up your sealant every few months, I tend to add to mine every 4 months or so. I was using Stans but got tired of cleaning all the snot balls out of the tyres. I swapped to Orange Seal Endurance for a bit, it’s just as good as Stans and doesn’t need to be topped up as often. I have a brand new bottle of Peatys in the shed, I haven’t used it yet so no idea how good/bad it is.
 
Use Muc-Off, buy it when its 'on offer'. No snot balls like Stans above, easy to clean up as well. Injects through Presta valves with the core removed with a tube over the top of the valve so easy to use.

But a warning, when I fitted Fillmore valves they clogged up when trying to inject Muc-Off sealant. So I removed the Fillmore valves and went back to Presta.

Continental Revo Sealant.

I bought it to go with new Conti tyres. The sealant has no ammonia in it which can react with the components of the tyre.

Those Conti tyres are gone long ago, but the Conti Revo does a great job for me on my Maxxis and WTB tyres, so I'm still using it.

I use muc-off, in fact yesterday, and it didn't work. It did inflate the tyre but didn't keep the puncture closed long enough to get home without a fecking long cold walk. I didn't remove the presta valve core though, is that what I should do? Makes sense now I've read it, but out on the ride covered in wet cold mud the brain doesn't work that well. Also people are mentioning "topping up" what does that mean? Are you pre filling the tyre before getting a puncture. Sorry for all questions but I get shed loads of punctures, I'm sure farmers plant specific pointy plants to put us off

After fitting the (tubeless) tyre on the rim and ensuring that when inflated it's properly mounted, you must then put sealant into the tyre before using the wheel. Then when you have a puncture the sealant inside the tyre should (depending on the size of the puncture) seal the tyre from the inside. Often without you even knowing it's been punctured.

Muc-off is terrible. The stuff sets like concrete on the tyre bead and is extremely difficult to remove without damaging the bead. Before setting, Muc-off forms a slop which doesn't appear to have any sealing properties. Use Stans or a similar rubber based sealant.

Agree regarding Muc-Off..I've always used Stans in the past..but Peatys seems to be working equally well ( although hard to know as I've not yet had a puncture since using it 😉)
 
Also a fan of oko, just the standard stuff that's water based and doesn't cause any problems.
About £15 for 1.25l and you water it down by around 25% so it lasts ages.
 
LOL, I literally hit buy on Amazon for 3 bottles of orange sealant for stocking stuffers for myself :) , then opened the forum and this is the first article I read 30 seconds later...... Used to Stan's (no complaints) but switched to Orange because that is what the LBS uses and I just didn't want to mix the two after they serviced the bike. Never had an issue with either.
 
OP, when you said yours came tubeless ready, do you mean, set up tubeless, or that the tyres and rims were ready to be set up?
I've being using Linseal which is made by OKO and £10 a litre on eBay.

No problems or punctures having used it for a year. I've used their magic milk before with no issues.

I use a syringe I got from amazon to fill through the valve, it has a small tube that goes all the way into the tyre.
 
Basically anything except MucOff as it’s universally awful. Stans is OK unless a road bike. For road use then Orange/OKO/Silca

What is "universally awful" about Muc-Off tubeless sealant which would mean that I should switch to another brand?
 
Don't use ethirteens tyre plasma, within a month it turns into a ping pong ball and starts bouncing around inside the tyre. Been using Peaty's Holeshot BioFibre for over a year with no issues

You may want to consider foam inserts if you ride a lot of square edge stuff or if you are not running downhill casing tires. I use Mynesweeper cushion inserts. They are ½ the price of cushcore. Also you can call and talk to Brian there and he will adjust sizing depending on bike weight.
