hi.... my wife has just got a Giant trance x e2... she is getting used to it and wanted to leave it in auto mode for now, but after a while, the blue light goes off and three lights come on and she says it just stays in one mode and doesn't change assistance automaticly... if she turns off the power and back on again its fine for a few minutes again.... any ideas? thanks

Hi, I ride exactly the same bike (awesome kit btw) and the same repeatedly happened to me. It’s very easy to accidentally touch the up/down button on the handlebar, which deactivates auto and activates the third mode.
Just double tap the switch on the downtube and it goes back to auto. Hope this resolves the issue.

I ride a 2022 LIV (by giant) and have put 5k miles on it in last 1.5 yrs. It has a Ride Control Ergo 2 controller. I agree w the others as it appears one of the controller plus or minus buttons may have been pressed. Once one of them is pushed it goes out of Smart Assist (S/A) mode and goes into manual mode where u select the assist level and then ut stays at that assist level unless u change it. U need to repress the S/A button to enter that mode again. Check ur bike e-manual. Also - My user e-manual mentions if there is a system event that the Ergo 2 will show a malfunction code by having an indicator light flash red and then one of the power assist indicator lights will blink and u should note which one is blinking as that will indicate if it is a heat, speed sensor, motor, or battery issue. Hope this helps - again my controller is the Ergo 2 - urs might be different but the manual should address same on ur model.

Just picked up my Reign E+ 3 and this is the first question I had. Thanks to DaveMatthews for pointing me in the correct direction. It's a 3 second press of either level up or down remote button. This is the quote from the manual

Power Assist Smart Assist (AUTO): The SyncDrive motor automatically adapts the power output to the circumstances to optimize ride comfort and range.
• Press and hold the 'Smart Assist' button (E) or 'Assistance level up' button (A) or 'Assistance level down' button (C) for 3 seconds to activate Smart Assist.
