Even a tool company I've used in the UK, MACHINE MART are getting into e bikes
Anyone know of others doing this

Edit- no insurance required? That sounds like bollox. Are they trying to claim these are pedelecs?

They are pedelecs hence the no insurance needed. The photo does a good job of hiding the pedals and you have to expand the description on the website to find out what it actually is
