What did you buy your ebike this week?

I have the metric system, or more accurately the SI system (Systeme Internationale) to thank for my career success.
When I was at school, I was taught in the imperial system and I never really understood physics and mechanics. We had the same terms for weight and mass and some seriously weird units for lots of other terms (slug-foot anyone?) Consequently, I never understood whether I was supposed to multiply or divide by 32 (feet per second per second) to get the right answer.

I didn't do too well in the exams and I thought I was a bit thick. When I went to Technical College to study engineering, all the teaching was in SI. The Si system has a coherent set of units (better than the metric system) and is very easy to understand; no problems of knowing whether to multiply or divide by the acceleration due to gravity. All of a sudden everything made sense! I got 95% - 99% in all my exams for two years and got the Henry Brown Prize for meritorious work, with only one given each year. From thinking I was a bit thick to that prize turned me around. I went on to get an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and lots of well-paid jobs and early retirement at 57. And all because of moving away from the Imperial system. But I still prefer to drink beer in pints, it is a human scale quantity.
We actually learn both as well. I like to cook using grams, but the distance measurements are so ingrained into my brain, I have to consciously translate. Cal Trans uses metric, and it throws everyone off. I can get on with most of it, but degrees C still tosses me... It is all fun and games until someone sends a 27" tire over.

Super funny!!
I actually laughed out loud and I'm still grinning from ear to ear! :ROFLMAO:
There’s a lot to be said about not being able to see clearly at the moment 🤣🤣 a few hours of riding in the slop and they’ll look like proper 510’s 😉

I bought this little gizmo for routing my new Hope brake hose through my frame, I just prey I don’t regret NOT using the existing hose but I’ll soon find out 👍

Flashing the cash again. Actually running out of this after ten years, can't say it's not been value or money.

I might have bought these for nothing if I re-use my existing brake hose but “it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it” that’s my new mantra 🤣🤣 I bought one in the 4mm size and one in the 5mm size just in case 😉😁

I love ❤️ Maynard’s Wine Gums. Use to separate the black ones because I thought they were ’black licorice’ 🤮. Then I found out they were grape flavoured. 🤷‍♂️

I got the Park Tool THH Hex set for Christmas and think they're awesome. Someone on here made me aware that there's a torx set too (THT). I considered ordering it, but then thought that £130 was a bit steep for the torx set considering I only really use the T25 (on Magura brakes). I discovered I could buy JUST the T25 on it's own for £17... so that's what I did!

I love the fact that a torx key can potentially cause "Cancer and Reproductive Harm"! I believe that's something printed on pretty much everything from California though?

Like most of you 😉, when I order something online and anxiously wait for the postal lady to deliver the item, I behave like an obsessive dog peering through the window.(see YouTube for examples).
I finally found the Oury grips.…but the pic is of my neibours set. I’ll explain.

I ordered three sets of these. One for my neighbour and two for myself. The dropper lever is for my nephew. The grips were $44 CDN. (Probably $8 anywhere else).

When the package arrived I quickly installed the new Oury grips on two of my bikes and recycled the plastic packaging. Not quite Xmas-frenzy mode …but pretty close. My wife noticed that I disappeared for a while and I just pretend like nothing happened when I return.

Wait! No chance for pics. I still have my neighbor’s item in the original packaging. Whew 😥.

Now don’t judge me. I may have a problem with grips.

FYI, I’m seeking help.😉
