Levo headset went walkabout for a while so another one was sent . Lo and behold original one is arriving the morn. Big shout out to ( The Bike Factory ) I informed them and they told me to keep it as well for free.

Ah, I would spray those earrings with this before I gave them to her.

Apparently it works on eMTB’s also. 🤷‍♂️
The only thing that works with eMTBs is spraying them with money, but even then diminishing returns sets in pretty quickly. Unless bling is your bag, of course, in which case Hope Tech will lighten your pockets. 😀

Christmas is early in my house. We’re off to Gran Canaria for 11 nights on the 23rd December, so are having our family Christmas today.

My wife looked at me like I had 2 heads when she asked what I wanted for Christmas… but these look awesome 😂😂

Got to go build some Lego with my 4 year old before heading to the in-laws, but hopefully I can get them on the wall when everyone’s in bed!!

Bit damp over this way right now but clearing tomorrow.
Christmas Sunshine 22c+

Its raining hard today so I’m gonna forfeit my 200km ride today (oops, extra zero by accident)😉

Nothing new to show but I have some ideas and wishes for Xmas.

New mittens!

This happened earlier this year while I tried to prevent another bite from an off-leash pitbull-like dog. My ankle took most of the damage. The Dad came running, the Mom was screaming, and the two kids were crying. EMTB was ok!

Anyways, gives me a reason to visit the LBS tomorrow.

Every year I get to open the Sports Illustrated swimsuit calendar and hang it in my garage/bikeshop. But she forewarned me that this could be the last year. She can’t find any.

My Shimano XT cassette. It looks old …doesn’t it?

I’m not sure what this guy got but it looks useful.

Leave it hanging and use it again in 2024, to be fair it's only there for the pictures ...

... but the 2024 calendar does look tasty 😉

…but I haven’t seen or felt or smelt real money for almost 20 years.
Which is why I think wireless credit/debit card machines should be carried by anyone selling cookies at my front door. 🚪 🍪 👍🏻

Will do .
Yes

I love saying to a shopkeeper do you still take real money. Oh aye we still dee that is the usual answer. But it's fading fast

Nope, it just looks mucky. I can't see any problems with it, but that may be the muck that is obscuring the view.
Hmmm, I generally wear through 1 cassettes a year (1.5 maybe ?). Shimano XT 12 speed, HG Shimano chain, AXS GX. Chain checker says very little wear. Chainring is in very good condition.

My distance is down by 25% , probably because of some trail work this year. Now that I think of it, I’m down to 2 chains a year. But my chain is skipping/jumping in 4-5-6-7 gear while applying high torque. I’ve inspected every tooth on the cassette but I’m not exactly sure if there’s excessive wear on the shape of these teeth. I don’t know?

Maybe a thorough cleaning and/or disassembly of the chain, derailer and cassette may be necessary. A while ago I also changed to a different chain lubricant. Suppose to be better and last longer.

Bent or frozen link? Bent tooth? Dirty derailer?

Mine doesn't change gear perfectly but things like that don't bother me any more . I find as I get older my ability to do anything fiddly is aggravating. Between the natural age loss of eyesight and my cachhandedness I need a perfect nice bright day to do any simple maintenance . Chopping wood is therapeutic as long as you don't hit the fingers.

I had an issue with this headset on my Kenevo. Kept on coming loose as the insert at the top of the headset that fits between the bearing and stem was a bit short so the face plate wasn’t putting enough pressure on the system when pre-loaded. Figured out what the problem was and reverted to the insert that came with the Kenevo and it hasn’t budged since.

Strange as this headset is the part number Spesh recommends.

Try it out for yourself.

Bought a Shimano MT501 I Spec-II brake lever (left hand) from Wiggle/CRC for £12.99. Also comes with a MT200 caliper and 1350mm hose which will live in a dark corner of the garage.

Why did I buy this?

My left brake lever is Shimano BL-M6100 I Spec-EV and the clamp is exactly where I want to position my Bosch Kiox controller. The MT501 has the clamp further outboard and I can now get the Kiox Controller exactly where I want it.

Mechanically, the MT501 lever is the same as Deore, SLX, and XT.

I'll second that one, my pockets are almost feather light now, but my bike will look awesome when it's finished 😏
