Pic of the Day

After I managed to overcome my weaker self I was lucky yesterday and had a great tour before the heavy storm arrived last night.

Nice scenery with the leaves on the ground but tricky as hiding slippery stones, roots and fallen branches.

Thanks to the rangers that cleared the trail

Beautifull place to rest

I’ve been off the bike for 3 months due to an injury and surgery. I finally rode again about 2 weeks ago. Here are some pics from my last few rides. The pics are mostly of my bike; I clearly love this thing. Arizona has incredible riding near the city for quick rides, plus places like Sedona, Flagstaff and Prescott. The weather is perfect. It is gonna be a good riding season.

Did the loop around lake laurentian today, it was -4 when we started and +5 when we finished. Lots of icy spots on the trail and the lake had a good crust in the morning.

Gertrude the 10 year old black lab was a fu#*ing champ today! She kept up without issues and had a blast.

Contin yesterday bit wet but plenty to explore here may need a guide. Ended up on the Strathpuffer. Today had a paddle then took the bike back to get the van via Lochinver . Halloween party as well tonight . What a difference a day makes .

Apart from the cactus, the landscape looks identical to where I used to live and ride in Central Australia.

Yesterday's ride out of Traquair , Scottish Borders...with Alan, Wayne & Ant..
The ride was a mix of Southern Upland Way, Innerleithen Red Route & Minch Moor Road .
Unfortunately not to long into the ride Alan developed a problem with his brakes ..as in he had none !..
A trail side attempted fettle couldnt rectify the problem ..and after agreeing to meet up again further into the ride he rode back to a bike shop in Innerleithen ..but the temporary fix was very short lived and he unfortunately had to admit defeat 😔
We were sorry to see him go but we will catch up again soon .
The first few pics are mine ..mainly on the first section of the Inners Red climb to the top of Minch Moor featuring Ant & Wayne ..

Yes just saying last week I haven't been down there for many years. Sods kaw a friend going at weekend but I've been away last two weekends so need to chill a bit I think.

It has been a little damp this week so I took the opportunity to hike around to look for several unsanctioned trails that I have been wanted to find. I also found out they are rebuilding an old North Shore Classic - Salvation, which is full of interesting features. The roller coaster on Boogieman always scares the crap out of me as it looks straight down when you are on it. The last pic of lily pad drop was the trail I was looking for but... whoa!

Un-be-lie-ve-ab-le!😲 Great pics and marvelous looking trail but I would be to shy to ride it.

I also run that shock at 300psi & a Gnar dog token & it still near bottoms out. I'm about 90kg, plus 5 or so with kit I guess. Can't decide whether I've got it dialled, it's underpowered, or I'm a fat bastard.

Went out last night, it didn't feel especially sloppy...

Wife and I went out on Monday afternoon. Wasn't especially muddy but when the South Downs chalk gets mixed in with the slop it's a bastard to clean. We did a nice downhill (from the Tumulus to Staple Ash Farm) which was also leaf covered, into the sun. So with the low sun it was difficult to see and also often couldn't see the rain rutted surface under the leaves. I have a screaming wife who doesn't use her brakes. 😆

Wife has the same shock on her Rail. I put a Megneg on it and now it works pretty nicely.
