Rear brake rotor upgrade (Sram Centerline 180 -> 203 mm, Galfer scintered pads) finally fitted, along with a new X01 chain on the other side. The hardest part was to understand what kind of brake adapter I would need. 😅

This intermatic 1-6 hour timer is a simple wind up timer and practically silent. I'm not a fan of those cheapo lamp type timers. Or the digital ones that you have to be a computer programmer to set 😆.

Last month I installed an AC receptacle box near my bikes. I had it on an Alexa type wifi switch, so I could turn it off from anywhere in my house, but I usually wound up (especially after a late day ride) sleeping through my reminder alert to say "Alexa turn bike charger off". Also makes it easier to charge a discharged battery back to the 60% level for longer storage times like when putting the bike up for the winter months. Just set it for an hour or 2 until you reach 60%.

If you are handy with basic electric wiring (turn off the outlets breaker or fuse first) this switch is only connected by two wires just like an on/off wall light switch, because thats all it is. You just run the hot wire to one connection on this switch and the other connection on this switch goes to the hot side of the receptacle. The white neutral wire is just hooked to the other side of the receptacle as you normally would.

Gives me peace of mind (leaving charger on especially overnight) for only $37. After I set say 5 hours on the timer the power will be cut "off" to the bike's charger. Timer handles up to 10 amps, so I can even charge both my bikes at the same time too (4 amp chargers each).

* SPST as the one to choose on the Amazon's site stands for Single Pole Single Throw . . . means it's an on/off light switch, just like a wall light switch.

Um, that's a lot of work. I use this for my ammo reloading cleaner so it won't run too long. Would be fine for bikes too, but my primary bike has auto-disconnect built in.

Those of you in the UK who have a window to look out of, you will know that it has been a little moist. I got out in my new baby-gro last night and can confirm that it is possibly the best thing since waterproof socks.
 
SRAM 12x grip/twist shifter. I jammed my right thumb a couple of weeks ago after a bee (!) flew into my mouth and stung me, more or less causing me to stop paying attention to the trail, resulting in front wheel washing out and down I went. There was no way I could shift with my thumb, and used my index finger to shift to get home. Even buttoning shirts and opening ziplock baggies is difficult and painful ... especially those childproof ziplocks adult goodies from the dispensary come in. A week of no riding was driving me crazy, then it occurred to me maybe there was a SRAM 12x grip shift and Lo! there is! Arrived a couple of days ago - I've never been a fan of grip shifters but it got me back on my bike. My wife usually rolls her eyes when more bike gear shows up in the post but she appreciates I'm not the grumpy old fart I was a few days ago.

I bought some 25g co2 cartridges and this kit today. Both Has a 70% discount with .
The dynaplug discount was from 75€ to 22.50€, So i guess its worth to give it a try

I bought a 50% improvement in top assist speed. Right by my house, there are open desert areas that are suitable for 30+ MPH, but they are hard to do with pure human power (sand and soft dirt).

This is cassette number 3, for the Rad cage'd Zee. I Had to add a larger pulley to get enough take-up for the 11-46 cassette, but its making the stretch nicely 👌 eventually I will need to buy a new derailleur, but for now a box of spare parts is keeping up.

Update: The rig started dropping chains because the pulley was too large for the ancient OneUp cage design. I put it back to the standard Zee pulley, and removed 2 links from the chain. This mech barley makes the stretch, 11-46T on a TranceXe... but it makes it.

DVO Jade X 230x60 for the 2022 Trek Rail 5. Now got to figure out what spring to buy, thinking VALT Progressive. Bike is 25kg, I am ~84 kg ready to ride, I like a plush ride and can't get a lot of air because my left ACL is very 'second hand' so can't risk a twisting landing. Will ask TF Tuned.

Edit: cancelled order because decided to instead tune existing shock before going coil.

TFT have a spring calculator. I have no idea how good it is, but it is by TFT so it must be, at the very least, OK.

I've used it, think I need 400-488, but I'll call them tomorrow.
 
Bought one of these (the ConnectModule, not just the manuals). It’s an immobiliser/alarm/GPS tracker. It fits, it works, it makes beeping noises, it knows when my bike’s been moved or stolen, it sends messages to my phone, and I can track its whereabouts. £95 (+ £40 a year after the first year for free) well spent for some peace of mind. Still use a damn great D-lock, too.
