And it looks like you're the one to finally mention it.

There was some plonker on J.Vine this morning, an Mp, or ex Mp i think who claimed that ebikes go faster than regular bikes because they have a motor obviously. Also claimed to be a cyclist himself*.
I dont know about him, but my legs rarely propel my 52lb ebike beyond 18mph.

* I'll wager if you asked what bike he rode he'd be stuck for an answer.
