Any idea what this is and do I need it

This flicked off during yesterday's ride. Looks like it's just a cover, so the question is do I need it? Best way to put back on? With epoxy?

it does not do anything and are stuck on with stickers so glue it on if you want or leave it off.

Mine fell off too...£12...!! If you replace it then use 3M double sided tape. The stuff it comes with is rubbish

No, you don't need it, but it looks better with it. This is a common issue. It's happened on all 3 CX motors I have. 3m double sided tape, construction adhesive etc. will do the trick.

Glue it back upside down and claim a motor warranty coz they put ya motor in arse about.
