Rail 5 vs 7

In the market for my first Ebike and Im pretty set on a rail.

However I’m really torn on whether to go for the 5 for 4.4K or 7 for 5.2K. Both are 625wh. Is the 7 worth £800 more?.

If you're going to upgrade the hell out of the bike get the 5, if you're going to just get out and ride get the 7.

Those were exactly my thoughts. I got the 5 as I plan on a an Ohlins shock and a Zeb up front. So there was no point in buying the 7.

The 7 has better components, namely rims and hubs, Deore vs SLX & XT shifter/derailleur and better brakes MT4100 vs Deore.

So if you were going to upgrade wheels and brakes as well then its probably fine for the 5.

Nowadays it’s hard to locate components to upgrade, might be worth it just to get the 7
