I had a chance yesterday in Sedona Arizona USA to ride the altitude C70! This is a really nice Emtb. I have a 2022 Levo expert and this C70 in my opinion rides just as good as the Levo. Rocky Mountain Bicycle Company absolutely needs a better marketing team. This is a great product that no one knows about.

… just as good as the Levo.

This kind of neutral unbiased non-flag-waving crazy talk has no place on an emtb forum. Or the internet for that matter.

To mend this I’ll add that I’ve ridden about 1000km on a 2020 Levo Comp (with both a 2020 and 2021 motor … commence flame war ) and while I much preferred the Brose over most other motors tested, my next 2021 Instinct Powerplay BC edt was a revelation in natural feel and power, and a much more playful bike overall. I sure hope my soon arriving 2022 Altitude PP C70 doesn’t waver from that but rather adds some that doesn’t put all the new geo praise (and prizes) to shame.

To be fair I recognize that I may have a certain bias because of unlucky experience with the Levo, or just because I personally and generally focus more than the average rider on pedalling feel and tend to like the smallest bikes of a certain std size. I also like to run the assist at pretty low settings while still getting the full oomph when kicking it hard, which may make the Powerplay more fitting for me.

By happen chance Rocky Mountain has had a certain position in Norway on account of many rentals with Powerplays and a very specialist dealer friendly and helpful importer. They are also present on all festivals and run own demo tours. But the more main stream bike shops are picking up pace with their Levos, Rails, etc.

I agree about the marketing too. I never see a group test with a Powerplay and the YouTube channels testing a PP are most often not of the big emtb ones, and often do a normal test ride from a shop or of a friend’s bike. I thought the embargo before launch last fall would mean a lot was done and more widely.

EDIT: I just realized you may have meant to give RM points by comparing a C70 to a top model Expert. Which would put you right back in good company with of all us on (slightly sensitive underdog) team Maple Leaf

I took an A70 for a spin on Saturday. Collect it in a few weeks time once a few upgrades come into the store.

Currently deciding whether to mullet it or not. Will chat with the store today.
