Commencal import duty?

Has anyone recently (post Brexit) bought direct from commencal? i was wondering how much extra i am going to be stung for import duty if i place an order!

There were a few problems early on, until everyone sorted themselves out. I believe that the retailers in the EU now take into account any customs charges and any VAT differences when the see that you are buying from the UK. But to be sure, protect yourself and ask them.

I had no pricing/charges/vat problems when buying a helmet from Spain and that was two months ago.

Just been doing some reading and apparently if the product was mostly manufactured and produced in the EU it should be exempt from import duty...anyone know where commencal make their frames!

Yes, you will get charged by the delivery company as they have to pay the fees. I think it's around 6% import duty and then 20% VAT on the ex-VAT price, plus some admin fee to the delivery company.

The final price I paid with VAT and duty was similar to the EU price (inc EU VAT) but in gbp.

Just looking at this today and like the thought of 10% off picking up from Andorra.
Would I also benefit from 0 vat / duty aswell?

Pick it up from Max, ride it until dirty, then stick it on the bike rack, drive it home & what the taxman doesn't know doesn't hurt him.

I was supposed to do this years ago when I built my ellsworth rogue but never got .

I don't know if it works the same way or not. But several years ago I ordered several Eth miners from China and UPS delivered them and UPS left me a bill for a customs/ import duty afterwards for several hundred dollars. They called me once demanding payment, I just never paid the thing and I never heard anything of it. Not sure how it works elsewhere or if they can enforce these things if they already delivered the item to you.
