Anyone got any recommendations for a sub £1K hardtail in stock (pref 29er) that is suitable to be Rocket fuelled with the new Bafang M625 motor and 960wh battery?

On one frames might be fruitful for this. Full bikes maybe less so but they do have a few sub 1k builds.

Has to be Ali frame if you are going to go down that route, carbon frames are too fat around the bottom bracket to allow the BB of the Bafang engine to pass through the frame and clear the engine. The other thing to look for is that for anything other than a standard BB you will need adaptors to fit say the push in BB's, that can cause the BB to be too wide and won't allow the max 73mm width.

The other thing is the M625 torque sensitive ?

Don't know about it's suitability for a conversion but have a 2020 Cube Acid XXL frame size hardtail for sale if interested. 29er. Only used for 3 months before upgrading to full suss.

How about a Decathlon E-St100 ?

Then you already have an e-bike. You can add your motor and battery to it and have twin motors and batteries. When one system fails, you have a whole complete second system ! :-)

Or run them both at once for those lazy climbs whilst you drink your coffee/beer ...

It does have the advantage that it looks like it's already been crashed forwards into something and amazingly, backwards into something ! So you don't have to worry about damaging it.

yeah I noticed something not quite right about it, as if the wheels are not symmetrical.

I know some people like oval chainrings but I’m not sure oval wheels will catch on.

Marin San Quentin 1 but it’s 27.5

Sonder Transmiter is a cracking bike but not available for a few months

A 33lb+ hardtail with 25lb of battery and motor bolted to it?

Also: does the Suntour XCR fork still come with this handy Emtb only rating sticker?

;)

I'm intrigued by the bolt-on motor, I'm looking at solutions for my daughter who won't stop growing, could this be the answer?

You can get some cracking carbon hard tail Fat bikes off Alibaba and Dengfu do both hard tail and full suspension frames and wheels.

The only motor that will fit the 100mm BB is the Bafang HD engine at 2000W‘s which should keep you up with your old Bafang M500, well just when you work out the weight of the battery to do so.:)
