Getting access to the hoses / cables...

Hi all

just took out my battery and noticed that my LBS, when upgrading my brakes, have criss-crossed over the hoses and cables inside the battery compartment. It’s not causing any issues apart from triggering my latent OCD!

To uncross them and lay them flat, I’ll need to get inside the head tube, but this looks like it’s blocked off. Any ideas how I go about accessing this area?

From the parts diagram it looks like there are various components at the upper end of the battery compartment, such as the lock. Is it a case of dismantling these components in order to get into the head tube? If so, any pointers on the best way to approach this (this will be my first attempt at rerouting cables / hoses!)?

Try removing fork & see if that gives access, if not you'll have to remove top battery catch/lock & then do the battery alignment procedure (instructions in Trek sticky threads)
You'll need torx T25 tamper-proof tool for alignment procedure.

Thanks for the response. Alas, having removed the fork, there Is no means of reaching the cables in the head tube - looks like a dismantling job of the battery compartment. Any other pointers? Is this something you have done? It seems like a fundamental skill - my cabling will not move easily at the mo, so it seems like future plans to upgrade the dropper will need me to tackle this problem..

The 2 nuts that the security torx screw into are loose inside the lock assy they can fall out & the alignment in procedure is a bit fiddly might take a couple of trys, but it's not hard.
