Fox 49 Kenevo is finished !!!!

Thanks for all the input from you guys on building the perfect bike for me. I’m very pleased with how she came out.

Modifications:
Diety black label bar 800mm 38mm rise Diety 31.8 direct mount stem. A pice of art
Wolf components gold spacer and top cap
Fox 49 boost fork !!!
Fox dropper post and leaver
KMC gold SL chain
PRO carbon fiber chain guard
Carbon fiber battery and motor cover
Crank Brothers DH 11 mallet black & gold

Now it's finished. Any idea what it's Head angle, BB height anf full weight is?

Ps. Go get it durty

PPs. tyre spec is more interesting to me than component spec. What's it running? 29 front? 27.5 rear? I can see it's a Butcher grid on the back. What size is it? and what about the front? tyres? size? compounds? casings? and on what rims?

That’s all stock until Specialized gets me the carbon rims.
 
Yeah... But I've no idea which model kenevo it is. nevermind the spec or the measurements

it's ok though... I'd rather be riding than geeking out here.. injury sucks
 
So I took The Kenevo out for a hard trail and DH run in the rain today and what a beast.

It’s hard to compare the new Kenevo fox 49er to the stock kenevo or levo. But I’m just impressed. The kenevo should have been a 200mm travel bike from the beginning. Now that the levo is a 150mm bike it’s close to all mountain travel and suited for most rides.

The extra travel of the Fox 49 really takes hits well. The stock lyric was great but the extra 20mm and the looks of the fork make it even more capable and attractive.

Going up hill on the levo was good, just pick a good line and it would take the hill. The kenevo stock was better taking on harder sloppy lines allowing the rider to focus on pedaling. I made a purchase based on the kenevo simply for the reason that I could take on harder uphill rocks and trails the levo was not quite capable of. That being said this was based on a 2018 levo.

The direct mount and new bar are snappy and provide a lot more feedback. I feel more connected and intune with the ground. All the other factors of the bike are the same. I’ve got handling back to stock and the stance less extended. So aside from going up hill and taking DH much better things are very similar. The extra weight is nice in staying planted but when taking a seated bunny hop over a root or rock I could use less weight, but that’s a small part of my riding.

I could not be more happy.

If your debating on a kenevo vs a levo you know my choice. But if you have questions hit me up.

Is this a good rig to downsize frame?
Im 5ft7.5 and 75kg, id guess id fall firmly in the medium category
But id be interested to try a small!

I'm almost jealous but that's alright because at least I've got the same SL gold chain and the same PRO chainguard which is something RIGHT?!

I’d say medium for sure as that’s dead center for the range.

It’s solid oak, cut so the bottom rear triangle sits just a mm above the brace of the stand. It’s positioned to move the weight inward so no matter what way I lean the wheel it will not fall. Meaning the stand has perfect balance with the bars turned right or left.

I made a prototype before hand that was unbalanced because I had the footing horizontally facing the bike, this one is parallel. Thanks for noticing it.

So the fox 40 requires an entire new wheel set ( look up “fox 40 kenevo” on YouTube, you’ll thank me) , but the rep for Fox did extensive research and found a better solution, that is the fox 49 boost.

The difficulty here was the stock front hub was not 20mm. So we sorted out a matching hub that was 20mm boost and relaced the rim with matching spokes.

So swapping out the front fork was quite easy once it’s all said and done. It just took a small army to figure out the best solution.
 
Highlighted on the live YouTube podcast as well. Sharp looking ride. Bet it’s super fun. Similar to Tommy C(RATM bassist) and his buddy he rides with. Triple clamp on kenevos

Why not use an adapter? 20mm to 15mm Axle thanks
 
Looks good, but how's the handling? Should be a beast downhill, but maybe a handful on single track.

27 mm to 38 mm rise bars coupled with 180 mm to 200 mm forks equals 31 mm rise in bar height and a degree slacker head angle to about 64.

Sorry dude those calculation's will be well out.
A 40 has 2 crowns of slightly less stack height combined than that of a 36 single crown fork.
Stanchions are somewhat adjustable in drop through those crowns
Meaning a 200mm 40 can actually be set to the exact same axle to crown height as a 180mm 36. giving the exact same static H/A
You also haven't taken into account the stack height of his previous stem or headset spacers or his new direct mount stem and spacer arrangement.

I’m impressed.

She rides like a long travel bike but I’ve built a single track trail with skinny’s and sharp corners so I can learn to use my body and weight to take a turn. So far she’s no 29er hard tail but with time I’ll get after it and be close.

I think she has great handeling for most of my trail rides and that other 1% I go slower ;)
