Hi, anyone with the E10 at home can tell me if the inside of the seat tube is completely straight so it can acomodate a big dropper seat post??? In theory size M has 440mm of seat tube, this is espace enough but, I don't know if the inside is unobstructed....

580w max is about what I see on my Brose 1.2e on my Kenevo. I feel it’s adequate power. Just a smidge lower power than by Gen2 Bosch. Hardly noticeable.

New motor firmware and whatever hardware Bafang have sent has been shipped. Will arrive in the UK in about 14 days.

Great news ?. Do you know if new ordered motors and batteries from Tony will already be updated the same way as yours you'll receive? So new motor firmware?

I have no idea. I don't even know what is being sent! I will definitely have some questions when I get it.

Hm, would appreciate if it wouls be so. Dont know if motor and battery are coming from Tony or directly from bafang. If they are coming from bafang we all will hope to get new firmware without being you ?

My assumption is that if the new firmware is good to go then it'll be rolled out to others. You'd just need to find a Bafang dealer who would be able to update it.

Its a very thorough article.
But it even states that the Specialized Levo Frameset, a CE mark isn't required... therefore illegal in Germany without correct end user certification after they've built up a complete bike - I think.. .am I reading that correctly?
So no difference between that and a CHEEB in terms of German law as far as I can work out?!

Very worked article certainly. But me, what I notice it is the advice several times repeated not to launch out. Especially when he says that it is better to buy a second hand because he "doubts" that the DIY is as well than a commercialized E-bike. Is that journalism ?

I have mailed EBIKE-MTB and explained that I have an YT Decoy 29 that does not have an CE mark sticker on the ebike, like SCOTT, nor a CE declaration in the YT documentation, nor can I find the word EPAC in the documentation. The YT documentation only has a "CE EU12000mAh" mark for the battery. Now what ? Did I buy something that doesn't have a conformity declaration ? No CE mark ? Have they checked all tested ebikes for this CE mark ?
I also asked TOSA for the CE mark on their AM 1.0 .

+1 alike my previous spectral on. In add i think i have the sticker "CE" on the M500, i will not dismantle to control, but those who have one can confirm ?

@Rob Rides EMTB do they ask you to use the content/pics or is it a suprise to see yourself in some of the publications?
It is also mentioned in the installation book (link upper). This thread 'legal or not" with CHEEB for target, seem partial contribution done urgently (for the motor at least)

In the end its just a sticker. I have not seen some sort of official registration number coming with the CE mark.
Even the SCOTT CE mark is just a sticker, proving nothing but at least it has 2 addresses which you can visit when the ebike breaks down.
You can buy the "CE" stickers from Aliexpress starting at about 2 $ for a few 100pcs. Even a nice BBS01B one (1) for $1.55
But it is not about the sticker... is it ?
Tosabikes in Poland, in the EU, is selling the Dengfu E10 as their AM 1.0 . I wonder if it has a CE mark...???

So wrong but irresistible to top off a self-build ebike with a sticker (extra costs approx 1 Euro for a vinyl sticker sheet A4 in silver/gold). An example of how a Dengfu CE sticker could look like is shown below but I understand from the EBIKE-MTB article that it is a crime to use a fake sticker.

just stumbled over the video and thread about the CHEEB.
Very interesting project if you consider the flexibility and options with regards to geo and motors. From M800 (light EMTB) and M500 (legal EU power option) to M600 (S-Pedelec type but not street legal) with the respective battery capacities you get a huge range of weight and performance options. Not talking about the frame geo with different folks (150-180mm), shocks (types, length and bushings) and wheel seizes. Thanks for the inspiration.
You showed a Linkage analysis of the frame in your starting post. As I am fiddling around different options myself utilizing some parts out of my own garage and to save myself a bit of time I'd like to ask if there a chance to receive a copy of the file?
Thanks already for the great idea and I try to follow with an own built if time and money permits.

Answer from Tosa wrt CE mark:
"We don't have time to read the forums, we make bikes instead. All components that require a CE certificate have such markings.".
I interpret that as a "No".

After searching I found in the "Safety first manual", which seems to apply to all of their e-bikes, a statement that comply to EN ISO 4210-2 and EN 15194.
Has the text the same validity as an CE mark ? It doesn't feel like that.

If you want to be able to ride on public roads legally with it then, as mentioned previously, you have to conform to the Machinery Directive even as a private individual. However, not sticking to the standards (see glossary) generally doesn’t lead to sanctions for private parties, an obvious grey area.
