Any recommendations on a home bike stand for my e-mtn bike.

Pics/suggestions for a sturdy e-mtn bike stand. My road bike stand just isn't strong enough to hold it up. Anything out there you made for the job? Thanks.

@Jessy - I have several of these for sale as looking at importing, obviously bias but they are rock solid stands for either front on rear wheel. holds up to 29ers and I have three sizes - 2.6, 3.25 and Fat bike 5.25!!

I’ve got the park tool pcs 9.2 and it is very good for my needs, fine for heavy emtb’ s as well. Sturdy and well made, and the price isn’t that bad, about £150 I think, but you might get deals. And it should last years.

I have a Park Tools stand. I did a lot of research and testing before coming to the conclusion that none of them were ideal but this was the best of the bunch and the only one that seemed anything like sturdy enough. It's very well made and not at all "plasticy" like the cheaper ones.

I bought the Park Tools deluxe home mechanic stand. Very solid indeed, and no problems holding my Levo SL up nicely. The legs fold up to store it away in a corner.

Aldi do a cheapo maintenance bike stand now and again. Takes up to 30kgs for £19.99

I made my own out of some old industrial racking. I manufactured the front & rear support brackets, the front 1 has a tube the same width as the wheel hub & I use the spindle to secure it. The rear 1 supports each side of the triangle. It all clips together/unclips in less than a minute for storage. Cost less than £20 & an hour to make. Rock solid & height adjustable in 40mm increments if need be.

I recently took a punt on a generic cheapie from ebay for £28, rated up to 30kg.
Looks identical in every detail to the £45 BikeHut stand from Halfords.

Might not be as good ultimately as a Park, but It is completely adequate, for a fifth of the price.

Old post but the Halfords one is fine, I wouldn't use any without the cross bar support, it distributes the weight perfectly and make the bike really easy to lift on.

You can make a wheel stand pretty cheaply out of PVC/Schedule 40 pipe. I made one for my fat bike. If you fill the tubes with play sand as you assemble it, it's really sturdy for a heavy bike. Instructions are here:

Old post but the Halfords one is fine, I wouldn't use any without the cross bar support, it distributes the weight perfectly and make the bike really easy to lift on.

Rear fork stand "Stilo" - Ideal to be used like display stand

Due to the 2 adjustable hooks, it is suitable for every type of rear fork and wheel diameter, do not interfere whit wheel spokes

I‘ve just got one of those this week. Only issue is, where the rear of the bike rests on it, all the cables run along the bottom, so I’m concerned about resting the weight of the bike on the cables.

Just set the stand up so all the weight is on the top hook with the bottom hook acting like a guide with a slight gap beneath the cables on the lower stay. That’s what I’ve done... works well.

I set mine so that the top hook is taking the majority of the weight of the bike and the bottom hook is simply keeping the bike from moving. You could always duct tape some foam to the hook where the cable sits just to help protect the cable

This is a great idea - I get worried about using the dropper post to attach to my stand with the weight of these bikes. Just ordered a cross bar from Amazon to use with my stand! Thanks for the idea.

Which one did you get? This one at Halfords has a weight limit of 15kg, so I wouldn’t have thought is strong enough
