Another question for all you experts out there

New bike with EP8 motor there is no drivetrain engagement when back pedalling

This means my tried and trusted chain cleaning tool won’t work

Other than manually running a rag to clean or removing the chain what do you all do ?

Put an Allen key in one of the chain ring bolts and when the crank arm rotates it hits the Allen key and push a the chain ring around.

Get a cheap stand off Wiggle for under a tenner! Before I did that I’d just use a bit of Velcro and loop it through the chainring.

I have a bike stand and with the rear wheel off the ground, its not an issue.
So, anything that lifts the rear wheel off the ground will work. Or the Allen key thing.

I bought this from Halfords, think it was £12 to hang my bike so wheels of the ground while I clean the chain. Rated at 30 kilos, does the job. And you can fold it up. I thought if it doesn’t work it’s good for my skateboard anyway. (y)

Because my bars are quite wide they fit in the recess but if the rack was fitted on a flat wall you would only have to turn bars slightly.

It’s only flimsy but does the job.

I use an 8" reusable zip tie (cable tie) and wrap it around the crank arm and one of the spider arms.
