I came here to post this.
Last summer I bought a new (non-eMTB) bike and due to a chain failure which resulted in a snapped derailleur hanger, I ended up with some pretty significant scratches on the seat stay after owning the bike for only a few days. It's fair to say I was pretty frustrated at the time.
Since then I have been trying to find some official touch up paint and not had much luck. I had been in touch with the Specialized Concept store in Ruislip several times after seeing another thread on this forum. They were super helpful, but were not able to source any Dove Grey from Specialized.
I recently bought a new bike for my daughter and happened to ask again at my local Specialized dealer about sourcing some touch up paint. They told me that a new service had recently launched, with onlinepaintshop.co.uk having a deal in place with Specialized to supply touch-up paint based on the official Specialized Pantone colour codes.
The website says currently out of stock, but I sent an email with my details to enquire when it might be available. Two days later I received a phone call from Leo @ onlinepaintshop.co.uk. He said that they have been working on the deal with Specialized for a little while and that they are still working on the full range of Specialized colours. He said they are almost ready to go, but just in the final stages of preparation, hence the website saying currently out of stock for all paint.
Leo said that the colour I was after was one they can already produce and I was therefore able to place an order. It was ~£15 for a 50ml pot of Dove Grey Gloss shipped to me via FedEx — which I was really pleased with after spending several months trying to get hold of some. I ordered on Tuesday evening and it arrived at my home on Thursday morning (this morning).
I have the paint now and I am keen to apply it to the bike. I will provide another an update once it's on.
It's great to find somewhere I could get genuine touch-up paint, as I had been considering going the nail polish route for months.
